Title: Build a league setup out of Track (+other Ebonite Int. Balls)
Post by: Amoyensis on January 02, 2018, 04:52:21 AM
Hi all,

since I (a newbie) have trained hard the last year, this year it is gonna become serious. My club wants me, so I will start to play league the next season which starts at september. This also means, that I will have a few changes, which will start asap to train with it enough.
First of all, I want to buy new balls. I now owe a Storm Timeless, a DV8 Vandall Destroy and a Brunswick Rhino Black Pearl. All in 14 lbs.
I want to change my whole equipment and build a new one based on Ebonite Int. balls with 15 lbs.
The reason is just easy: On the one side, I want to have less maintanance stuff, that I have to buy (e.g. polish) on the other side, I want to have a big sortiment of which I can choose from. So I think Ebonite Int. will be my friend, as I can choose from Track, Ebonite, Hammer, Columbia 300 but all use the same maintanance products (Power House). And 15 lbs just because I am strong enough to use it and I want to avoid going around the ball.

Now the question is, which balls I should buy. I want to start with 3 Basic Balls for Short/Low, Medium and High/Long Oil Pattern + 1 new Spare ball.

My avg. rates are:
Revs: 321
Speed: 14.61
Axis Tilt: 12
Axis Rotation: 58
PAP: 5 side 3/8 down
Style: Tweener (I would say)

I am playing in Germany, the lanes here are not very good. So the balls should be better ones :D
Would be nice, if you could give me a few tips on my way for this year and recommend me a few balls.

I post this in the Track Part, because my first view goes to the Paradox Black :)

Regards and happy new year!

Glad to hear bowling is gaining another competitor! EBI is a fine choice as darn near every company is producing some great stuff right now.

In my opinion I would look at these options top to bottom:

1. Paradox Black or  Mako Attack
2. Black Widow Gold
3. Blue Vibe or Kinetic Emerald

Good choice on the Paradox Black, it's a great ball! With so many great options EBI is putting out, it is difficult to narrow to 3. I would suggest the Maverick Pearl, Saber, or GB2 to go along with the Paradox.

Paradox Black
Kinetic Ruby/GB2 Phenom Pearl/Rebel Yell/Spoiler
Blue Vibe

The top and bottom are pretty easy, there are a lot of choices in the middle

Really need if not a game breaker family ball at least a ball with the game breaker coverstock if going EBI only.

I'm a ball wh*re - so narrowing down choices doesn't come easy to me in this industry. I agree on the Game Breaker statement.

I honestly feel like anyone who is going EBI right now should have a Widow ball no doubt. Then Gamebreaker, Vibe, and Paradox. Then the Kinetics have seemed to work out quite well on the lower ends.

Yeah been wanting a gas mask ball for awhile.  May end up picking up the plastic ball with it just for giggles.
