I've just gotten back into bowling after taking a few years off. The league I'm currently in is on Sundays and is more of a social league rather than a competitive league. Long story short, it's a typical house shot, but lanes aren't prepped for us and overall they are pretty burnt up, very dry on the outside, and not consistent week over week.
I'm currently throwing a couple of older balls - the Lx-16 and the 916 All-Terrain, both 16lbs, and drilled pin up slightly above my ring finger (right handed). Not sure of the actual specific layout, but I throw a medium to high rev shot and average between 18-19 mph when I'm throwing it the best. Both balls were last prepped to 2000 abralon when I was in a competitive league and read through the oil well and had a strong back-end motion that I prefer to throw.
In my current league both balls are reading way too early and I'm struggling to keep the ball in the pocket, even when I move all the way left to the gutter and throw over middle arrow to try and keep it in the oil as long as possible.
Before I go out and buy a new ball, I wanted to see if changing the surface and going up to 4000 or adding a coat of polish is going to make a big enough difference, or if they are just too strong of balls for the lane conditions. If changing the surface is a waste of time, is there a newer ball that track is currently offering that would be ideal for the lane conditions I'm seeing?

No one can say for sure but you have the ability to take the weakest of the two balls and try it to see. Then you have a very accurate answer vs speculation.
If needing to buy something else because its still too much you have options with Tropicals, Twist, Hustles, Raws, etc to choose from.

If you must have a new ball then Track has the Tundra Fire. However, a surface adjustment would take only a couple minutes to see if you in fact need a new ball. But if you need a new ball and it has to be Track; then the Tundra Fire is built for the burn.

Lol!! This is so typical of ball manufacturers nowadays. No matter what they say the ball is intended to do, they almost always soup it up some and make the ball way stronger than you expect.
That looks more like a medium condition ball to me rather than one you can use on the burn! You'd have to drill that thing pin down and weak to successfully use it on a burned up shot. It's definitely got a motor in it!

Appreciate the insight guys! I'm excited to get back into bowling more regularly and bring my average back up to where it used to be. I'll start with changing the surface of my current arsenal and if I'm not happy with the change, it'll be time to make a new purchase!

The thing is we dont really know how burnt they really are because he is using high(er) end equipment and at a 2000 sanded finish, albeit some older ones. Secondly, he mentioned he wanted it to be Track and the Fire is the ball that gets down the lane the easiest and it is basically 1500 grit polished. If he were to take it to 4000 and then add polish; it would only be that much more cleaner through the fronts. At the end of the day the Fire would still give him something cleaner and a step down from what he has.
