Clean and Sheen or Clean and Dull
« on: November 07, 2005, 02:54:39 AM »
Just wondering what the best one is for the GP2? I'm not familiar with either one, so any info would be great.

If you want the GP2 to be cleaned and left in the out of the box finish, then use Clean and Dull.  Clean and Sheen can used to add some length, especially if used with a spinner.

Fatboy, if you want your GP2 to remain at box finish, then use a Gray Scotch Brite Pad to apply the C&D using almost ZERO PRESSURE to apply it. Then wipe off with wet cloth and then dry with dry cloth. I have had my GP2 since earlier this year and it looks the same today as the new one on the shelf in the pro shop, by using this procedure. DO NOT use a spinner with this procedure.

Bill & Clint,

Please be cautious. People tend to remember the bottom line, but not the "IFs", "ANDS". and "BUTs". YOu might be giving Fatboy8 the wrong impression about C&S.

Clean and SHeen will give a sanded or stock surface GP2 more length, but only because it will change the matte finish to a "sheen" finish.

The general purpose of C&S is to remove sanding lines from a 320/400 grit, sanded, resurfaced ball, sand it to approximately 500 grit, and then provide a roughly 1000 grit compound finish, that is neither a polish nor a matte finish. Thus the name, "Sheen".
