Can someone compare the FAZ and the Slash?
« on: November 11, 2005, 03:06:50 PM »
I hear the Slash is a GREAT bench mark ball but, my FAZ seems to do this well for me. Are they similar at all?

My buddy has both of them, drilled about the same. The FAZ seems to handle a little more oil, and isn't so condition specific. His Slash really shines when they dry up a little bit, and the shot breaks down. For some reason, the Slash shows alot of track wear really early, like after 8-10 games or so.

Slop,

In my experience with each the FAZ starts up sooner. I like the Slash as a benchmark ball more because it does not seem to be a sensative to the oil line as the FAZ.

Goodluck,
Carl

I agree with Excaliber on both counts:  The FAZ starts up earlier for me, and the Slash is smoother when reading oil and dry.

I have a stronger drill on my Slash and a control drill with polish on my FAZ, so FOR ME, the Slash hooks more because it's just a tough stronger at the breakpoint while reading a little more oil up front.  (Had I drilled both balls at the same time, I wouldn't have drilled them both in the manner that I did.)

For anyone else, the FAZ would handle more oil, as it would roll earlier and likely have as strong of a breakpoint as the Slash.  If you have an arsenal of 5+ balls, I could justify having both, especially if you sanded the FAZ.

Hey Slop,

Pretty much the same here, my FAZ also started sooner while the Slash was more even rolling throughout the lane.  For a heavier oil condition, look at our Arsenal Reactive to compliment your FAZ...same low rg reaction with good finish still on the backend.
