Kinetic Energy/Phoenix
« on: March 12, 2009, 09:35:59 AM »
I just picked up a Kinetic Energy and thought it would be a good replacement for a Phoenix.  Phoenix specs were pin out 3-3/8” / 2 oz top. The KE I found is a pin out a 2-1/2" / 2-1/2 oz top. Does anyone know if drilled the same as the Phoenix, how will the KE compare?

Track got bought out by Ebonite right after its release.  Ebonite opted to not produce the ball.  Shame too, great ball.  Was the strongest midlane track I've ever used until the Kinetic Energy.

X You have a weak layout on your Phoenix. Do you really think the KE is stronger in both the mid and back end?

The Phoenix cracked around the pin, across the bridge, and across the top of the fingers, and I had to get it fixed. It's OK right now, but since the Kenetic and K E are now discontinued, I wanted to have something that would roll simular to the Phoenix when drilled with the same layout. So I picked up a KE b/c I felt it would be a great replacement and in the closet it went.

I am also looking at picking up a Kinetic if I can find one with a 3-1/2 - 4" pin and 3-1/4 - 3-1/2 top   OK, I have two more questions.  Does ANYONE know which ball is the stronger of the two drilled the same way: The Freak Out or the Kinetic?  Which ball will give you the most length and the most backend?

The Kinetic will give you the most length and back end over the Freak Out. You have to remember the Freak Out is a Partical ball and the Kinetic is not. The Kinetic is made for skid/snap.

PNJ

The Freak Out was skid flip as well. Yes, it is particle. The factory surface is 1000 compound. I have mine at 4000 w/magic shine-delayed reaction  I love that ball reaction and know the Kinetic will roll well with that layout. I'm just wondering what the difference will be.

I actually had 2 Phoenix's, one of which I gave to my brother.  That first one has the same layout that I have on my Kinetic Energy.

Ebonite did release the Phoenix along with another 3 or 4 after that. Phonenix New Brid Alpha, Phoenix Fire Eagle, New Brid, New Brid B.

They all look sweet. Could have been a great series here but Ebonite hates the U.S. and sends all the good stuff to Japan.

Thanks,

I think the Kinetics will match up well for me. My driller also said longer- stronger. I picked up a Kinetic and a KE and will sell the Freak Out.

my KE is far stronger than my Phoenix, both with pretty much the same drill pattern, about the same midlane read, but the KE has ALOT more backend than the Phoenix
