Could someone help me out
« on: March 13, 2006, 12:22:22 AM »
Ok,

I went and looked at Track's website about all the new equipment they have. And looking at it, the specs THEY give are very similar for alot of their balls. At my house, there are very few people who throw track, mainly because the patrons are loyal to the house proshop, and he carry's nothing but Ebonite, Storm, Hammer, and a few Brunswicks.

For all of you who throw the equipment, on a fresh shot, and in general terms(meaning not how the ball is drilled) and OOB finish, list these balls in order of length(most to least) midlane read(most to least), and overall hook(most to least):

Arsenal Reactive
Arsenal Artillary
The Machine
Robo Rule
Rule delta.

For example, the specs between the Machine and Delta(as far as length and backend) by track are very close. I am really intrested in buying one of these track balls. I currently use my Fired up for Med heavy and my Crash for medium light. I really need something on the same shot that gives me the same length as the fired up but with more backend.

Hey DJ,

Even though I'm banned from that one house...I can help you...the only problem is I've heard quite a # of stories about how pathetic the shot has gotten over there...

Just going by basic numbers...I feel the line up would be like this from most to least:

Robo Rule
Rule Delta 1
The Machine
Arsenal Reactive
Arsenal Artillery

That's my opinion and others may find it to be different...and to be honest..it could be very different...because the first 3 are asymmetrical, so the MB placement is very crucial in obtaining a desired reaction...hope this helps buddy and I'm sure Carl and Rick will throw in their opinions also...God Bless you and have a great week!

Dj

length most to least

Artillery
Machine
Reactive
Delta
Robo Rule

Midlane read most to least
Robo Rule
Rule Delta 1
Reactive
Machine
Artillery

Most Hook most to lease
Robo Rule
Delta
Machine
Reactive
Artillery

These categories are pretty vague. The equipment you list make a few of them difficult to list because for example: The Reactive is 900grit OOB, but given the identical coverstock prep the Machine would be far stronger.

Let me know if I answered correctly.

That is exaclty what I was looking for. You must realize that it is hard since that very few at my center throw track equipment. Track is just as well vague about how they specify length and backend ratings on their websites. I figured you guys would really know the diffrences in the equipment. After what was listed, I think for me it's a toss up between the delta and the machine. It may be a situation where  I need to polish up the delta to give me a tad bit more length or take down some of the polish on the machine to give me better midlane read(has anyone experimented with this?). I agree EX, the machine could probably handle more oil volume than the Delta if at 800 or 900 grit.

What I am looking for is something with more backend than my fired up, but something somewhat versatile.

Michael,

What are you refereing to? The shot seems ok to me. It's a fairly easy shot getting to the pocket, alot of people(including myself) have had trouble carrying the last few months. Lots of back row leaves(8s and 9s).

I would say that their Sunday Night condition is alot easier than Friday night. Bowled over there a few weeks ago as a sub, The outsides were so dry I pulled my crash out and  aved 20 pins better than Friday.

DJ,

When I bowled the city tournament over there, I'm sure the shot you bowled on and the shot I bowled on was totally different...I had everything and more the first game, afterwards I was fishing for the pocket...could just be me not having the priviledge of practicing over there anymore to see what to expect and not to expect...But if I were to make a point...I haven't seen as many honor scores over there this year as in years past...thats all! God Bless you and have a great week!
