Power Machine HOLY CRAP!
« on: October 21, 2006, 03:44:57 AM »
Well guys after a long struggle on whether or not to drill this ball up, I just could not resist. I"M GLAD THAT I COULDN'T! After hearing some reviews from the few people that do have this ball already, I was thinking that it was going to jump way too much for me on the back end. NOT TRUE! Maybe it is the drilling that I have on it ...maybe not. Sorry, I'm not to up on the technical drilling lingo, but it's pin above the bridge about a half inch and the cg kicked out to the side a little bit. If I can figure out how to post some pics I will do so.

Alright, I drilled this up Thursday afternoon and went early to league on Thursday night. I threw a practice game with it just to get the feel and warm up. The lanes are not oiled at that point but the reaction was amazing.... more to come. Then it was 10 minutes of practice time. I always start with the Mean Machine so I threw 3 or 4 shots and got lined up with that. Then I decided to see what kind of reaction I would get from the Power Machine on some fresh oil. I moved 2 boards right from where I was with the Meanie and threw the same shot and WACK! PINS WENT EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!! So I threw it one more time and WACK AGAIN! At this point the Meanie took a ride on the bench. It was time for score.

The first game I went the first 5 then a sold ten pin (that should not have been there) that I missed like a dummy. Anyway, I wound up missing in the 10th too (like a dummy) and went 212. Second game, started out with a 8 pin that I have no idea how it stood there. Next frame, 10 pin (that I made) then I went the next 7 and would up with 238 that could have easily been 300. The last game I tanked and started forcing the ball and wound up with a very depressing 175 for a 625 series. OOB

This ball is UNBELIEVEABLE ..... If there was one word to describe it, that would be SMOOTH, SMOOTH, SMOOTH!!!!!!! It gets down the lane and makes a nice arc to the pocket and CARRIES THE WORLD. It keeps the pins low to the deck and throws them everywhere. If you miss left with this ball it WILL go through the nose, if your going to miss, miss right .......it will come back. In conclusion, this ball is an INCREDIABLE addition to the Machine series and the Track line up. By the way it is a beautiful ball and looks great while it's smashing the rack! Trust me YOU WANT THIS BALL.....DON'T WAIT!

By the way, if any of you have questions that I have not answered yet I'll be happy to try to answer them about this great ball.

Any chance you have a strike machine to compare this ball too. Also if not what ball in the track line have you or do you own to compare too. You say you moved right compared to the Meanie, does this mean the Power hooks less or more of a late breaking ball?

Thanks
Shipper

Track Website says:

Power Machine: Hook-46 Length-10
Mean Machine: Hook-52 Length-8

The Mean is still stronger overall.

ok. First Shipper50 Unfortunately, no I don't have the Strike Machine to compare it to. You are correct, I'd say that the Power Machine is exactly 1 step down from the Mean Machine it is not as aggressive and yes it breaks later then the Meanie.

Second, NOY you are also very correct! The Mean Machine is still a much stronger ball. However, If you are looking for something to go to once the Mean Machine starts to jump a little too much, without moving your line, then the Power machine is it!
