Del was here!!!
« on: August 14, 2006, 02:45:58 AM »
Well Del has come and gone from Rockville Centre NY. What a great experience having him at the proshop. Just a lifetime of information that given by the President of Track Int'l.

For me it was well worth the cost and time. I spent about 15 minutes throwing the ball which he just tweaked my stance and hand release. The rest of the time I picked his brain about layouts, ball surface, weight blocks and reading the lanes. If you havenot had the opportunity to read his article in Aug BTM, it is a good piece of information. I rated a 3.

Sue (pardon didn't get last name) sales rep was very helpful and I heard quite an accomplished bowler was a pleasure to talk to.

Thanks for looking,..9..Keith  aka TIMY

I was there also, it was well worth it. Del changed my stance a little as far as ball placement. He had me place the ball a little more towards the center of my body, so that my head would line up with the ball. He stressed to me about the importance of letting the ball hinge from my hip so I would eliminate snatching at the ball (I was extending the ball in the pushaway). Also, he made some adjustments to my thumbhole where I was hanging up, and had me take all the black tape (4 pieces) from the back of my hole and use a 3/4" piece of white tape along with only having thumb tape on the back of my thumb (I had it on both sides). The results were astounding. I was able to relax my grip pressure and release the ball at the same point every shot after the changes. also my ball speed went up naturally (before I was muscling it to gain speed).  He made some minor changes to my span and pitches (I will have those balls on Thursday), to increase my rev rate. According to the article in August BTM, currently I'm a 4 (slightly speed dominant, 320 rev rate-17 degree axis tilt-18 to 18.5 mph), but Del said after the changes he made come into effect, I'll be a 3 (ball speed matches rev rate).

I bought a Mean Machine, and the free ball (Artillery) to be drilled.

Great info guys.

FOLKS, I cannot stress the value of attending a Pure Approach Clinic. You get it from all sides.....your game...your fit...info on lane play. Another point I see being of value.....you purchase a ball and Del will suggest a layout based on what he saw when he was watching you bowl.

Yes, that was her. She was very nice to talk to, gave some helpful insight on the new equipment and far as me putting tape in my thumbhole.

Carl,

Del did give me the layouts to put on the Artillery and Mean Machine, along with suggesting to put a bigger weight hole in my Aggressive and how to put together my arsenal. also, he had me change from Power Ovals to Ovals and my thumb pitch from 0 to 1/4 reverse.

is there an age limit for one of those pure aproach clincs? I am 15, and wanting to pursue a good coaching to get everything corrected while I am young.
