Delta 1, first impressions
« on: October 29, 2005, 12:32:10 PM »
So I picked up my Delta 1 today, not sure of the exact measurements, but I would guess 3 3/8 - 4" pin to PAP.  I got to throw it today on a fresh THS, and all I can say is WOW.  This ball moves more than anything else I have by far.  I started playing with my Rock Star and I was swinging from 22 to around 13 and it was ripping back.  After I loosened up I took out the Delta.  It took me a little bit to get lined up, mostly because I didn't anticipate the moves I had to make.  Once I got dialed in, I was starting at at 37, playing out to 10 and it was ripping back.  Even OOB condition, this ball was saving enough energy to make that turn and it carried so much.  This ball was easily outmoving even my Impulse Zone which is drilled Max Leverage and was my strongest ball to date.  I've never had a ball that recovered as much as this and I can't wait to throw it in league.  Thanks to Del Warren for the coaching and laying out the ball, and thanks to Track for putting this ball out.  I'm going to say it again and leave it at that.  WOW!

The delta 1 is a cool looking ball.  I would buy it just by the looks alone.  I like the white/blue mix.

The white and blue colors may be hot, but its not as hot as the turn it takes on the lane.  This ball makes me look like I have someone 50 feet downlane to kick the ball to the left.  A-mazing.

I only used it for a few games yesterday, but when the carrydown set in the ball didn't seem to mind it.

Sounds good Dan, I get the same reaction out of this ball not wanting to stop once it starts.  What I still can't believe is how many boards I can cover but it won't poop-out, very interesting.

I am in awe of how Del designs the blocks.  He truly understands the necessity of a design (core/cover) that creates axis retention to aid the bowler in creating that strong finish into the pins.

Does yours split the 8-9 too as it leaves the deck?

Rick, I tried real hard to make it roll out and it just didn't want to.  Del is something else when it comes to these cores, and when I met him I found him very easy to talk to.  I was very glad I was able to make it back home for the seminar.
