Drilling the Phenom
« on: August 22, 2003, 08:04:48 PM »
Curious to find out how everyone's Phenom is drilled and what kind of reaction you are getting from it. Mine will be here on Tuesday and dont know how to drill it yet. It has a 2" pin and was going to put the pin under ring (RH) and the mass bias to the right of the thumb. Tell me what you have and opinions on what you think about my possible drilling.

How am I supposed to knock all 10 down with one ball?!?

Just drilled a phenom up tonight for a buddy of mine. It is a 4x4 drilling with the MB about 2-2 1/2 inches right of the thumb.

He was throwing it and comparing it to his Mutant. I saw it consistantly getting about the same length as the Mutant, but had a much stronger move at the breakpoint. He was throwing a on a pair that was oiled.....used, then oiled to 44ft and the backends were not stripped at all.

I cannot give a clear evaluation on it until I have thrown it myself. But I was impressed out well the ball carried on high shots. It was stronger at the pins than the Freak. I am not sure (with him throwing it) if it was as strong at the pins as the Mutant. It is without a doubt stronger at the pins than the Super Freak, and it is longer down the lane than the super freak as well.

I want to see how this ball works for him once it tracks up a bit. That is really the only true way to post an honest opinion on a ball. There is no way someone should post about a ball that was only thrown a game or two.
