EMB Pearl maintenence
« on: October 20, 2003, 08:38:59 AM »
After seeing some of the horror stories of particle balls crapping their pants after x amount of games due to poor maintenence i figure i'd better find out how to look after one. I know that i need some particle polish and i know that sandpaper is a no no but what else do i need?(and how often should it get some life-lengthening TLC)

I think that my EMB Pearl has hit the spinner once in the season and a half that I have had it.. For a while, it was the first ball out of my bag, but the houses that I was using it at finally decided to be a little more generous with the oil, meaning that the ball had to be put away for a while. But by the time that it got placed on the spinner, I would say that it had almost a full season, exclusively on it, while bowling in 3 different leagues. When I resurfaced the ball, I used wet scotch-brite pads only. Sandpaper never touched the ball. For cleaner/polish, you might want to look at renew-it for day to day type cleaning. Not too sure about polishes, though, since I tend to use whatever I have available to me at the pro shop for particle equipment.
