Anthony Chapman Inducted into NCABA/ABC Hall of Fame

Track Staffer, Anthony Chapman, Upper Marlboro, MD was inducted into the NCABA/ABC Hall of Fame on October 9th. His accomplishments are many, some of the highlights are: 1988-89 won the Maryland Ten Pin Council Scholarship and used it to attend the University of Maryland. 1989-90 was Collegiate All American at the University of Maryland. 1989- 95 Six-time Team USA Maryland State Champion. 1992 Won the Men's US National Amateur Championship in Chula Vista, CA. and was voted captain of the 1993 Team USA. Anthony won the Federation Internationale des Quilleurs (FIQ) World Youth All-Events gold medal in Venezuela, and was the first African-American to win both titles. He was named Amateur Bowler of the Year by Bowling Digest and Bowlers Journal. 1993 he won FIQ American Zone Adult All-Events gold medal in Guadalajara, Mexico. Anthony also won gold medals in triples, singles and team events for Team USA in Guadalajara. His Team USA won the Challenge of the Hemispheres International Friendship Tournament in Vernon Hills, Ill. They won by 57 pins over Canada, with Anthony's last three games of 268-238-224 deciding the match. 1994 he won a gold medal in doubles and a bronze in team in the FIQ American Zone Youth finals in Monterrey, Mexico. 2001 Anthony won the National Bowling Association (TNBA) Men's doubles in Detroit, MI with William Ripley. He won the World Match Game New Year's Day 10-game Marathon in a field of 200 plus in New Brunswick, NJ. 2003 Member of champion TNBA Eastern Regional mixed team that went on to win the TNBA National Mixed Team title in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. where he also won the TNBA National Rhodman Singles Championship.

Anthony is a member of the Greater Washington Bowling Senate Hall of Fame, has won the Nations Capital Area Masters scratch event five times, has rolled 22 perfect games and has had 14 800 series, and he carried the highest individual average for regular team members in the NCABA the past two seasons (238).
