Thinking about buying a NIB Freak, it was listed as a "heavy" oil ball when it came out. Probably my fave Track ball. If this ball was just coming out now, 4 years later, how do you guys see this ball now, compared to the newer balls??
-
I would probably say that it would be med/hvy. Could go between the Machine and Robo Rule.

The WOW 2 is not as strong as the covers on today's stuff. I would have to say it would be a great medium ball to fit under the Mean and Robo.....

I would NEVER see this as a medium ball. The ball will burn up on heavy conditions. I would say this ball still has one of the smoothest reactions around for med heavy to heavy. It has to have oil to work properly. I love mine, but I can't find enough oil to throw it on.

I have alot of guys around here wishing for the FREAK to be remade!! It and the Freak Out were by far our 2 most successful products in our shop. The current line up is not far from those numbers though!!

Compared to the Rob or GP2...it will not handle as much oil...thus why i say it will be a medium oil ball...while you are right, the ball will burn if the heads are toast (what particle does not) by the same token, there is no way the WOW 2 will turn over on some of the stuff that the Robo or GP2 does...heck, my favorite Phenom would not hanlde as much as the GP2 or Robo...

Clint,
I suppose it's drilling and who throws the ball. I have seen the GP2 in action, and my freak might be two boards weaker, but that's about it. When I throw my freak on medium lanes, I have to keep the ball inside 17 to get it to work properly. It usually burns up if the ball gets past 10.
I am really intrested in the Inertia for a replacement to this ball. I really love the core on the freak, not so much the cover. A remake of the core with a new cover would be fantastic.
