Track seconds or x-outs

Good morning all.  as someone who has a large family and money is always an issue, are Tracks Seconds ball a good choice.  The pro shop I use deals in them quite a bit and has quite a selection of them. Are they legal in all bowling leagues and tournaments etc...  Thanks

As far as I know, they are legal for leagues and local tournaments as long as they weigh correctly. I used to use a blem Freak Out in leagues and asked the league president before hand and that is what he told me. I believe you might not be able to use one in a PBA tournament.

There most definately legal if the fit the specifications of side weight, finger weight and such. The balls are fine just sometimes need odd weight holes among things are perfectly legal. Robert Smith and Norm Duke both used X-out Storm balls on tour last year.

yeah - seconds are just a difference in the color, pigmentation, bigger/smaller pin, etc.. has NOTHING to do with the performance of the ball. You bet you can use them in leagues and in any tournament.

many pros use xouts for the pin distances.
i have several track seconds and all have worked great.
the only problem is there is no warranty. i had an arsenal agressive crack all the way around and could do nothing about it. i am loving my gp2 and delta 1 on the regional patterns.

Not always the case.  Some of the C300-family seconds are not legal.  Bonanzas are legal while Bonanza IIs are not (or something like that).  If the ball says it's a Rule or Machine or whatever, just like any first-quality ball, then it's legal.  If it's an off-brand like Bonanzas, sometimes they aren't.

2nd/xouts are completely different than bonzazas. 2nds/xouts still have the 1st quality logos and everything. my gp2 is a 2nd because the cg was mismarked by 1/8 of an inch. looks exactly like 1st gp2.

The reason the bonanza balls are legal, but the bonanzaII balls aren't is because the bonanza balls stick to the original core/cover combination, while the bonanzaII's may have different cores inside than normal.

 Having a different core inside actually constitutes a seperate and completely different ball than the original, and one that may not have been approved by the U.S.B.C., that is why the bonanzaII's aren't legal.
