surface changes
« on: April 27, 2010, 12:35:32 PM »
I was never one to change the surface on my equipment.  I always just left my equipment shiny.  I just drilled a 505a and hit it with a 2000 then 4000 abralon pad and man what a difference.  I can not believe how smooth this ball is.  Still is as strong as any other 505a i have drilled but this one is not so skid flippy.  Not sure how this would affect any other brand but taking the polish off these track balls makes a huge but better difference.

It affects 99.99% of all other balls the same way.

How in the hell are you on Track staff without knowing about changing surfaces on bowling balls? Wow standards are pretty low for staffers now-a-days.

yea, that doesn't make much sense. next we might just hear of a staffer using the luster king cuz the pro-shop was closed. *rolls eyes*

People generally get on a manufacturer's staff due to their ability to bowl. Driller's are still the ones, in the vast majority of cases, who determine almost everything about a ball for a bowler. I'd say that in 99% of the case, no matter who they are or in what position they are in, they're better off just being able to bowl, rather than to know about drillings, surfaces and ball design. I'd ceratinly be willing to surrender some knowledge in exchange for better execution ability.

He qualifies....he shot 847.

You would be surprised how much little changes make in ball reaction.  Have you drilled the 505C and compared the two?

First of all the post was not a debate of why someone is on staff. Jealousy is a bad thing. You could be the best player in the world, if you don't sell a ball or promote the brand you are not worth a staff position.

This is why this site is getting less posts all the time. It is supposed to help distribute information, not be a bashing session.

Trust me when i say track did not lower thier standards for this guy. i seen him bowl at track camp and he can play, we all learned some new things about ball surfaces at the 3 day camp.
