How is your arsenal shaping up??
« on: July 13, 2003, 07:17:18 PM »
How is everyone's arsenal for the fall/winter leagues shaping up?? What all Track arsenal are you building?? Personally, here is what I am doing:

Heavy - Super Freak
Med/Heavy - ???
Med - ???
Med/Light - Threat
Spare - White Dot

I am thinking of filling the Med/Heavy and Med slots with 2 of these 3, Phenom for Med/Heavy and either a Thrash or Triple Threat for Med. What do you guys think??

How am I supposed to knock all 10 down with one ball?!?

Rock,

I would probably say that once you get the Phenom you will want to use it for the heavy stuff. The Thrash is supposed to have a weaker cover than the triple...so you may want to get the Thrash there.

Here is what I have now and what I am going to be using.

-flood- super freak
will be phenom
-med hvy- mutant, will be superfreak
-med- freakout/thrash with the freakout being about 3-4 boards stronger
-med light-I would like to get a threat or an older track like the hextreme or something.
-light- currently using a voo doo, and none of track's new stuff fits this so it will be a amf KICK
-spares- i will stay with my yin yang drilled for a full roller

In my regular rotation will also be a Dynothane THING, an Icon, and if I do not manage to sell or trade it, the Morich Hercules...it is just so close to my THING, that it is a waste in my bag.

I am going to attend an expo in 2 weeks at Ace Mitchell in Akron OH, I am sure that Track will end up having more than just those 2 coming, but I will find out for sure.

EXCALIBER,

So what you are saying is that I should swap the Super Freak and the Phenom in placement of conditions?? Then put a Triple Threat below the Super Freak, right?? That sounds good to me.

About the expo, I think my driller is going to it and he said to wait until then to buy anything new. He says he will give me a better idea as to what is coming out on the market.

Rock,

Follow your driller's advice. There will be alot of stuff coming in August/September and it would be a shame to buy something now and not have the funds or room for another one.

As far as the Triple Threat and Thrash go, I would suggest getting the Thrash because the triple threat is supposed to have a stronger cover. So the Thrash may fill your med condition better.....however, I think the core of the Thrash is a bit stronger, so really it could be a coin toss.

As for the Phenom, according to Mike Riggins, he showed me the specs and picture in early July before they were even out, he says this thing is probably supposed to move more than anything on the market. So having not thrown one yet, and based on his comments, I would say you would switch the conditions you have listed for each.

Hey Rock,

I use my Mutant on heavy - med heavy & I have a Freak (drilled to go long) for my med shot.

Oh man, you took me back with the Volcano/R, LMAO  that was a great ball back in the day along with the Shark.

I don't throw track primarily but I have a pretty good Track arsenal(besides my other stuff) now that I think about it.

Medium/Heavy & Longer Blends:  Silencer, 4 x 4; 600 grit
Longer Mediums & Wet/Drys:     Assassin, 1 1/2 x 4; Box Finish
Mediums with Clean Backends:   Track Magic, 4 x 3; Hit with Clean & Polish
Medium/Light & shorter oil:    Revmaster, 6 x 5; Box Finish
Extremely Light oil:           Track Magic, Stacked Leverage, drilled back to 1oz Negative weight, Polished with TEC Shine

I never really liked Track's Pearlized equipment but a Threat or Freakout would look really nice in there now that I think about it.

Didn't really like the Threat. I drilled a couple of them and I just never got a good fell for them. I really like the control balls that I can drill to give me a little snap

I 'Tracked' (ha ha) down a NIB Pearl EMB the other day (last one the warehouse had too!) should go OK with the Elite pearl, Heat and a soon to come blue Triton, and a good one from the company next door in a Green Messenger, my other stuff can fight over the last spot in the tourney bag for a while(hopefully a good old fashioned snapper like a Ti Super beast, or the Shockwave or Lion when i get hold of them!)

Bowldoc4u, thank you for that post. Someone else sees the light in Track products as well. Like you said, instead of finding the void in what Track isnt producing, use what they are producing to your advantage. Learn to do different things with different balls. As for your Phenom, how are you getting one soooo early?? Once you get it and punch it up, let me know what kind of pattern you used on the ball, lane condition and how you are able to play it. I am thinking of picking one of these up myself and would like a bit of info.

I am from Fall River, MA. The house I bowl in has to be one of the most inconsistent houses in the world (or at least it seems that way.). There seems to be a different shot down every week. However, the house is never light or dry. Always Med/Heavy to Heavy oil, especially in the heads. And when there is carrydown or a long flat pattern like last night, forget about it, every bowlers nightmare. I dont mind the heavy oil, as long as there is some backend to get the ball to the pocket. Well, thats it for me. Who's next??

Rock,

Do not forget me, I am just about as loyal to Track right now as anyone. Just feel they need a good 3pc reactive for the drier stuff.

I am from outside of Youngstown OH. I primarily bowl in an old 14 lane house that has above ground ball returns and is widely regarded as the hardest house in our area.

I have taken of the reigns as manager in April, and I have changed the shot to fit the games of the wider variety of bowlers. 34ft, buffed to 43ft. Heavy inside of 12 and it tapers out to about 3 board. There is a definate out of bounds area though.
Scores are up, moral is up and bowling is better than ever so far. I just have to learn to cope with a person that is bowling bad and likes to blame the lanes.

Excaliber,

I didnt forget you, just welcoming another who beleives in the products that Track is putting on the market right now. As I have said before, they are making the BEST high end equipment right now and see no signs of slowing down.

Here is mine at the moment:

Super Freak
Freak Out
Spell
Stomp Pearl
Sensor
Volcano R

I'm looking for something to take the place of the Spell. I drilled two Threats and did not like either one all that much. I'm thinking about replacing it with the Thrash or mixing in a couple of other ball companies like Storm (X-Factor) or Brunswick (Inferno). Maybe a V2 Dry to take the place of my old Sensor. opinions appreciated.
