If Track could bring back one ball, any ball....
« on: May 25, 2007, 10:35:43 AM »
What would you want and why?

For me, it would be the Track NRG.  I wish I could throw it based on what I know now.  I remember, well at least where I bowled, the NRG was revered by all who had it, and feared by those who didn't have it.

I concur.  Go Hoss Central!

I'd love to have a case of Track Magics right about now too.  It'd get me out of over/under league hell.

The majority of the Track balls were great. I think that some with the right layouts were PHENOMINAL. I Had a Phenom and for whatever reason the layout I had was too agressive for what I needed. I sold the ball and the guy who bought it could not get it to do anything as well.

I had a Critical Mass drilled 12:00 pin up leverage What an awesome ball
Sensor II, same ball, just a pearl cover. Had the pin in the leverage position next to the ring finger-CG kicked way out towards PAP   Had a Flare done like that too  Great ball

I had a Contender drilled Leverage  Hit that one with Clean and Dull and a Green scotch brite WOW What a monster! Flat out desroyed the pins

The Freak Out was the best   Bring that back  I still have one still and its a freight train. I would buy a few more of those.

Synergy Pearl. I had one for six years. Polished, you could throw it on the lighter stuff, sanded, you could throw it in the soup. Great ball, if I had it to do all over again, I would've bought a few more!!

I'm greedy, there are two that I want back.  First of all, and this would be my second choice, I absolutly loved the original Synergy.  That ball is the one that set the bar for coeffecient of restitution (C.O.R.) for the rest of the world.  In other words, pins literally flew off that ball faster than any other ball there was.  Made match play in my first PBA event using the Synergy.

My first choice would be the Heat2 Pearl.  Its coverstock was an early particle pearl, although we didn't call it particle at the time, the flecks in the cover were indeed some of the first particles in a coverstock.  Had an awesome set with that ball.  248, 300, 298.....846 for three, then 268 in game four for an 1114.  That was changing pairs in match play.  248 was with the last 8, then 12, 11...an 8-10 split and another front-8 in the 268.  If it weren't for my nerves and that 8-10 I could have had a small 40-bagger with it.   As it is I have a 31-bagger, I'll take it.  Wish I could get my hands on a 15#, mine (yep, still have it) is a 16# and I haven't thrown 16s in 3 years.
