Last night at Brunswick Perry Hall Lanes in Baltimore, Ko Whittington had the first 23 strikes last night in a row (300-299) with the UpRising. He finished with 279 (including the first 8 the last game) for an 878 series, new house record (I think) and a tie for the Greater Baltimore Bowling Association record (maybe Md. State record too).
I've bowled with Ko for a number of years now and have witnessed many of his bowling exploits. He can make just about any ball do tricks on the lanes. Watching him throw the UpRising however was pretty special it matched up perfectly with the condition. The entry angle, overall motion and hit was outstanding.
Our sub, Brian Bennett, was also throwing an UpRising. At the tune of 299-823, it looked equally great in his hands. For Brian, the uprising was readable and consistent in the mid lane and provided a strong backend motion with great hitting power.
Ko was coming from the right and Brian the left, so it was good to see the ball react from both perspectives. Don't get me wrong the lanes definitely weren't hard. There's a lot to be said however when one guy averages 290 for the night and the other a shade under 275...
