Replacement for Rule-- Delta?
« on: April 01, 2006, 07:54:18 AM »
I would like input from you guys. I noticed my Leverage weighted Rule is cracking around the ring finger to the pin. I love this ball, but before I decide to drill another one up, I would like to know if drilling something else the same way would be a better move such as a Delta 1. You see what I have in my arsenal. I use clean and dull and a grey 800 pad to maintain the Rule cover. I noticed the Delta's specs are similar. Is this a stronger ball, or what?

Rule Delta 1 stronger backend reaction. Very nice and there are alot of cheap blems available out there too.

Not looking for any "blems," thank you. If I wanted a defect ball, I would just keep throwing this Rule and when It really breaks apart, get it plugged.  I saw the crack this week, and immediately looked to see what my options would be. I love my stacked leverage weighted Rule, just want to know if the Delta would be a better option. I maintain this Rule's cover with an 800 grit pad w/clean and dull on my spinner. Right now, I have a GP2 that is drilled simular. I use a 500 pad on that GP2. That is my strong ball. In between those two weapons, I have my Mutant that I use with a 500 pad finish. That cover makes it a powerful ball for me.

I had a Triton Heat that cracked the same way. Hairline in a circle around the ring finger, almost like someone plugged the ball and it separated.

RCKYURWLD,

While the Delta is or can be snappier with more backend, a minor adjustment or 2 with your spinner would probably bring it back into the same neighborhood as your Rule. I'd suggest smoothing the stock Delta1 finish of 900 grit to 1200 or 1500 grit. If I'm not mistaken the Delta was intended to replace the Rule, with a similar but slightly stronger overall ball reaction. But try the Delta with its stock finish first. You may like it.

The Blems are not construction defective balls as in they are suceptible to cracking. The ones we bought have wrong color logos, or the CG 's are not close enough to the line between the MB and Pin> THey carry the same warranty as 1st's for less than half the price and they look great.

Just what is the difference between the Rule and the Delta? Does anyone have both? The Rule drilled Leverage for me is very versatile. With that surface, it's a good read ball and it gives me a lot of area. If it goes too long, I pull out the Mutant. I can probably gloss the GP2 up and replace the Rule with that. Then drill up another GP2 or ROBO. Perhaps I should just call Del and ask him. I try to not bother him if I do not have to. Just thought I Would try here 1st.

About 90% of it is the cover (Goo LS is more flippy than the Goo).

well, if you won't take any advice offered here, (Why the heck ask, if that's the case.) maybe you should just ask Del, your bosom buddy, I guess. None of us must know our butt from a hole in the ground,

Enough said.

So the Delta is a tad stronger meaning earlier roll with more backend. OK Thanks

The GP2 is ugly...  but when it blows the rack like it does, who cares?

I have to agree the Delta is closest with everything else out right now.

I will also say, although I do not know what is coming....I know there are some new pieces on the way soon(few months probably) and maybe you would want to wait to see what comes out then?
