Mini Review: Arsenal Angular Particle
« on: February 04, 2005, 04:52:23 PM »
Ball: Drilled with the pin above the ring finger about 4 3/4 from PAP, CG is 5 inches from PAP. I left this ball with its factory surface. Statics are 1/4 finger, and 1/2 positive side.

Lane Conditions: Various. House 36ft buffed to 41ft tapers from the middle out towards the gutter. Sport shot.

Line: On the house pattern I was able stand left and aim right----anywhere right. I was standing 28, hitting 14 at the arrows with my breakpoint 10 board and OUT. The sport shot was a longer pattern. I had to stand 17 and aim straight up 12, if I missed right it would not recover.

Reaction: Skid......roll, strong snap to the pocket. This ball reminds me so much of the FreakOut. I absolutely loved that ball. It is strong on the backend, VERY much reactive like. Those of you that are afraid of particles but want strength....with strong backend recovery this is your ball.

Impact: WHACK! This thing hits the pins hard. It looks even harder....because you can see it just walk into the pocket and continue to drive through the pins. It keeps them low, and pushes them down and back. This is a trait of many of Track's more recent releases.

Readability: It reads the oil line very well. You can see the transition from heavy oil to buffed oil and it moves like it hit a bumper. With the smooth roll it has in the mids...it still snaps. I do not prefer that kind of reaction to read the lanes with. HOWEVER this is going to a first ball out of the bag kind of ball for league bowlers.

Overall: This ball will dominate league patterns....and I see it as being good on shorter sport patterns. It could easily be an oil ball for those with a ton of hand. I did not adjust the surface, because with its cover...it is a great combo ball with the AGGRESSIVE Particle(I will post the mini soon on that too). If you like the long and strong this ball is a MUST HAVE. I also kind of view this ball like the Freakazoid-----but with probably 5-6 boards more to offer on the backend.

Ex buddy, you hit it on the head. Mine also reminded me of my Freak Out. The only differencr I have with mine compared to yours is that mine angular is not snappy, I think because i put the pin below the fingers instead of above. Another great ball by Del, Brian and all the Track masterminds!!

George,

For me----the Arsenal Angular is stronger<<<>>>stronger may be the wrong word. It is sooner, and probably a hair less than the backend. On my house shot I had to play 3 boards deeper with the Angular than the Xception(playing the same breakpoint), and I had to keep it in the oil longer as well.

I saw this ball last night, the guy shot an 810 with a 300 game.  The ball looks great, very strong and awesome pin action.
