Title: Mini Review: Crunch
Post by: C-G ProShop-Carl on August 30, 2003, 07:53:16 AM
Finally got my Crunch drilled up tonight. I figured I would post an opinion on the ball----once I get some games on it I will post a review.

When I post reviews I try not to post scores. #1---when I first break a ball out I do not turn the computer on....the score is useless to me. I want to see what the ball does, and how it reacts from different angles. #2---Essentially trying a new ball is practice to me, since I rarely use league or tournaments as a first look at a ball...practice for me =scores useless.

With that said, I will move on to the ball. I have it drilled 4 1/4x 4. I wet sanded the ball to 800 grit before taking it on the lanes.

I think the people who have said that this ball is very similiar to the V2 solid are RIGHT ON(with a couple of exceptions). It gets down the lane nice. This ball has controll written all over it. I did not notice any over/under, but that could have been due to the 800grit. It hit very good...exactly like the V2 solid. It kept the pins low and when in the pocket the 10 pin never stayed up. The difference between the Crunch and the V2 solid was the carry on light hits. I did not get very good carry when I came in light with the Crunch. The Crunch did carry high hits better though.

The hook on this ball is exactly where the V2 solid is. It is not as much as the Freak....but it is more than the Mojo and VooDoo(for me). This is a ball that I think came out at a bad time of year, and just didn't get the play it should have because of the release date. The Crunch could fit into anyone's arsenal.

I agree with everything you said about this ball. Its a great bargain and is very under appreciated. Track didn't do a very good job of marketing this ball and the timing of its release was horrible.

I used the one I had for all lane conditions, just needed to polish it up if it started hooking to much.

I actaully have one of these in 15 pound NIB 1st quality for $85 shipped if anyone is interested. Message me for more details.

Once again, great review EXCALIBER!! I always look forward to your posts and reviews.

I agree, it is a great price. I bought it right and thought I would pass the deal onto someone here, but so far, no one has bought it..
