Mini Review: Phenom
« on: September 02, 2003, 11:49:52 PM »
Once I get some games on it I will post an actual review. I just wanted to give my initial opinion on this ball.

I drilled it up today----3 3/4 pin and 5in MB.

This ball gets great length for an oiler----certainly further than the Mutant gets, but it has a stronger move on the backend than any of the other morpheous core equipment. It has a similiar backend movement to the FreakOut----the catch here is that the Phenom is dull. You usually just do not get that big backend out of a dull ball.

It hits the pins with authority. VERY close to the Mutant, but not quite as strong-----just an eyelash behind.

So far I see the Phenom alot like I saw the Freak----only more boards are covered and it hits harder. They are very similiar in that an adjustment of hand position and this ball does what your hand position change was trying to have it do. Controll at the break point------but very strong. With it in box condition you get no over under.

I give the Phenom a solid 10. It does what Track says it does, and it hooks the way they say it does.

All of you guys who yell about Track releasing hook monsters-----here is another one. However, if you were going to try one out, try this one. Apply some polish and this ball will work if you want extra length and still have incredible backend POP.
