My Three Ball setup
« on: January 12, 2006, 05:04:44 PM »
Greetings!

I have gone to a three ball arsenal and have been killing them lately.  I took my Xception and hit it with a grey scotch brite pad to lose the shine and put some surface on it and have created a monster.  Works wonderful on heavy to med heavy (playing up the boards) which really surprised me.  This allowed me to use the VooDoo as my medium/benchmark ball with a 1000 grit abralon surface on it.  The Desert is perfect for the toast (with the slight coat of delayed reaction) and for use as a spare ball if needed.  Unless I find a serious flood this really is a versitile setup for me.

Now if I could only get Track to re-issue the Voodoo!

OK OK OK!!!!!!

I think you should call them and order a ton of Voo Doos. They will make them for you if you order enough. AND, since you know I also like the ball and this was my idea----------throw me a bone and send me a free one

I tried lower grits on my Xception and even at 800 or so it was still not quite enough in the heavier stuff for me. Still throwing that Unleashed 2?

Karl,

I have tried...but still no luck getting them to agree to it...but will keep flooding them and if I do get some remade I will gladly send you one.

The PU2 died a painful death in Albuquerque in a tourney a little while back.  Seems a pin got stuck in the ball return belt thingy and my PU2 became the PU .687.  Serious damage that couldn't be fixed.  Wouldn't give me dough but did give me a choice of balls, but none were Track so took a Depth Charge and gave it to my friend.  Really liked the PU2.  Was silly strong for me and would have been above the Xception. I really wasn't expecting the X to be that strong for me, but with the added surface really get a nice look in the oil. Not an oil monster by any means but with me keeping my ball speed in the 16 mph range really works well up the boards.  I think I will be adding a Robo Rule for really heavy stuff but that will be after my trip to Iraq is over...(leave monday...wohooo)
