Title: New LX05
Post by: thedjs on August 14, 2014, 06:07:15 PM
Any of you Track folks thrown the new LX05 yet?  Looking for a medium condition ball to fit below my Ebonite Legacy and have been told this might do the trick.

Thanks for the help.

The LX05 would be about the same strength if not slightly stronger overall than the legacy.

If you want something from Track, look at the Tour X or 300 series

As much as I like the core in the lx 05, SV is right, gotta recommend that tour x!

I've asked a few people about the LX05 and it's a pretty strong medium oil ball. Tour X may do the trick for you.

Would you guys say the track balls out are stronger than advertised? I remember the series balls, they had strong cores but weak covers.  Has it changed with the new lines out?

don't leave out the TOUR SIC
this ball would be longer and weaker than the legacy

Without having watched you bowl, I might suggest the HX05.  The Tour X is awesome, I love it, but it can be really aggressive on the back end.  The HX05 would be just as long but smoother, more controllable.  Just a thought.

Good to see you back on BR and posting again Mike.  Hope all is going well.  Did Tomball ever get the warped heads (near the center of the house) repaired?

Is the HX05 weaker than the LX05?

Yes, they both have the same core, but the HX version for High Rev players has the weaker cover.  The LX balls have the stronger covers designed for Lower Rev players.

The Tomball Bowl has been completely remodeled.  No more humps in the lanes, they put over 900 yards of concrete under the slab to help level it.  New lanes, new approaches, and constant changes are steadily getting done.  Now if the owner would just go after league bowlers, he would be making money very well.
