Rule Delta 1 or Robo Rule
« on: November 27, 2006, 12:34:20 PM »
I am debating wheater to get the RD1 or Robo, i am a tweener, and want something i can play in med-heavy, but dont need it for drenched oil patterns. Which is the better choice, i know robo is very reactive, but is that usually too reactive with anything less that soaked lanes.

I have another little question, as far as reactions go, does the Delta have a stronger reaction than the Absolute Inferno since im familiar with the hook on that ball, or a ball on the storm x factor line

I would suggest the Delta. If it isn't quite enough for you in its OOB surface, take it down a little bit and it should serve what you want. The Robo might be a little too much for what you want.

You are a tweener, but what is your typical favorite line and what is your speed? If you are slower speed, you definately don't want the Robo.

Nothing but the Flaming T for me.

My favorite like is not coast to coast, rather a smooth hook from 3rd arrow out a little and back in with med speed

Yeah, I would definately say the Delta. The Robo may be too strong for what you want unless you drill it weak.

I have to agree with the others. The Delta is the better choice. The Robo is a very strong ball.

Yes, the Robo is stronger on true heavy than the delta but, I would wager to say that on medium/heavy the delta will be stronger due to it being cleaner through the front part of the lane becasue it dosent have particle. Becasue of this, it will have more on the backend also on a medium/heavy shot.

Since you say you dont want to go coast to coast, the Robo might be the ticket becasue, the Delta hooks in the midlane and does not stop. It has a big backend for a dull peice. The Robo will bleed a bit of energy and allow you to play the line you say you want to play. Its up to you.

Hey Easton,

The Robo is stronger compared to the Delta 1.  However, the main difference is their reaction shape.  The Rule Delta 1 is designed to go longer and break at the backend, the Robo grabs sooner and is more continuous throughout the lane.

Since they are both asymmetrical, we can control both balls and their reaction shape properties.  For a straighter reaction, I'd suggest weakening the mass bias positioning to near the thumb or even under thumb(maybe even left of thumb if your track is not too high currently).  Either piece is also very flexible to coverstock adjustments as needed to the amount of oil you encounter.  I polished my Delta 1 and it straightened out by a good 8-10 boards so a lite fine tuning can put the ball anywhere in between that easily.  Either piece I feel would work for you.  Just give us a holler to whichever piece you decide on with your personal info (pap, axis rotation, tilt, speed, revs..etc) and we'll help you out with a layout to get the reaction you want.  Thanks....

i have a delta that i got when there wasn't many games bowled on it but used none the less. i'd suggest that, its a very reactive ball and had a good arc to it.  its a good ball for me and i'd think it would be a good one for you
