Equation Rollers-What's your layout?
« on: May 15, 2007, 11:34:56 AM »
I picked this ball up on Ebay a couple of months ago for about 30 bucks.  However, I'm going back and forth on what layout I'm going to go with.  I'm looking at Equation drilling #5 on www.bowlingball.com, and I'm looking at(with the huge Pin/CG gap) with going with a similar layout to my PM-http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=5210291, but move the pin further up.

Thoughts?  Comments?  Suggestions?

My Equation is pin in ring with CG stacked (4-1/4 x 3-1/2 x 2-1/2 above midline with XH below PAP) - OOB

The Equation was an extremely underrated and overlooked ball of last year. It has a strong roll with a backend movment that is extremely strong. Looking at your arsenal.......picture a reaction similiar to the Total NV....with more of a reponse when it hits dry.

Hmm, interesting.  Especially considering my NV is extremely violent on the backends.  I think I may drill it similar to my PM, except with the pin further up....  Thanks alot!

pin above the bridge about 2inches and cg in palm, small xhole to make it legal

for me its the smoothest and least hookin ball in my arsenal, however the continuation and the predictability is what make this ball money for me.
--------------------
When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

Also, here is my vid of the Equation...this should give you an idea of how the ball reacts...well for me anyway! Enjoy!

Vid: http://media.putfile.com/MPs-Equation-Video

A very good skid/snap piece and is by far one of my all time favorite bowling balls to be released from Track...I'm currently looking for a NIB as well for the upcoming fall season...I've got a Mean Machine, Robo Rule, and Animal stored back and the Equation will fit the bill when the new season arrives! Hope this helps some dude! God Bless You and have a great week!

It's pretty similar to my PM layout, and reacts the same, with the exception that my PM appears to flip a bit harder.  I'm thinking if I move the pin further up, that will give me even more length for the lighter oil conditions I face.  Primarily at night.

Very nice ball with great length and a nice strong arc on the backend.

Do you have an actual picture layout of your Equation?  I like the way it rolls.
