Kinetic energy still loving it
« on: May 02, 2008, 04:17:35 AM »
I must give kudos to this great bowling ball, the low game so far out of 14 games is 216 not big to some of you but I am only a 204 house shot bowler. Drilled 5 1/4 x 4 1/2 with no weight hole with a long pin out about 4 1/2 which i rarely use.

Shot 226 last night and should have been in the 250's, I crushed the rack a few shots so hard the head pin bounced off the sidewall in front of the 7 pin and then screamed back to where the 10 pin was already gone twice. Both times on 3 baggers so dang does this ball matchup to me or is just that good.

For a house shot ball that needs alittle head oil but makes carrydown look like it is not there I would recommend trying one of these out.

I rank this ball as good as the Vapor Zone which for me out of the million balls I have owned is the almighty holy grail of bowling balls.

Good bowling.  I am with you.  This ball has been great.  Other than cleaning, I have not touched the cover on this ball and it is still strong.

I've been considering the KE for the Fall season (THS), but I'm also looking at a Storm Gravity Shift.  Any ideas on how these two compare, and how versatile they are?

As a staff bowler who tested the KE prior to release date, I can tell you that even though the core numbers are the same, this is not the same ball. It will read the lane a good foot and a half to two foot sooner and hook 3-7 more boards right out of the box. The cover on this ball is that much stronger.
If I had one knock on the Kinetic, it was on heavier volumes and longer patterns, it was a little bit easy to throw it through your breakpoint. This ball eliminates that problem. If you have the Kinetic and KE, you can usually go straight to the Kinetic after the KE is too much ball. A great one two combo.

The house I go to now has a 43' shot.  I forsee my K.E. and MM as my 1-2.  If the oil carries down fast, I forsee my Rising and PM 1 if I need to go down and in.

Just got a Gravity shift as a replacement for my Attitude Shift that cracked in half, so I will be able to compare them soon. I am sure there are others who have both that might be able to answer your question now.

The Gravity is pin down at 4 1/2 so it is stronger drilling anyway, we will see how it goes soon enough.

mrbowlingnut,

Really looking forward to your opinion of the Gravity Shift vs the KE.  I'm assuming that you have the KE layed out with the pin up, correct?  Out of curiosity, what type of shot do you typically like to play, cranker, tweener, or stroker, and how are you using the KE?

Just for you guys wondering in the back of your mind about "Ball Death". I have resurfaced my first of four KE's Three times to the point that the KE label is gone and the ball still hooks and hits like when it was new.

One of the houses I bowl at mainly has a large amount of sand that carries down onto the approaches and onto the heads which really chews up the track on the ball. Like bowling on sandpaper or asphalt! LOL
