Title: old track triton heat question
Post by: thfonz98 on March 28, 2005, 08:09:54 AM
how do you tell what year your heat is?...i presume serial number

mine is 7V101625 .. really sparkly and swirled

thinking of plugging and redrilling it and leaving some stuff(pearls, dryer stuff) at my dad's house so i dont have to haul my stuff back and forth when i bowl in his league.

also what is the cg represented by in the track logo...the ball?....my pin is in the leverage position(just right of ring) with the ball part of the track logo at about 2:30 clock position(yes slightly up and to the right of pin) from the pin ("1/2"-1" pin) with weight hole.

what were the differences of the years also

CAn't help with the serial numbers, but there should be a punch mark somewhere in the logo that represents the CG

The original heat had two versions. The intial one had a very pearlly look with some mica. The second version was a  polished finish with much color phase. I believe somewhere in the neighborhood of fall 1997. I second Dan's comments on the CG.

First number on all of Track's bowling balls are the year it is made in, so your 7 means 1997. If you look at the GP2s, they all start with a 5, except for a very few that were released early, meaning they were produced in 2004 or 2005.

All responses are correct I believe. Have mine in front of me, 7W704195. Highly phased, cg is a punch mark near the ball in the logo. Most versatile ball ever made, at least for me.
