Can Anyone compare Voo Doo to the Hex?
« on: August 07, 2003, 09:44:47 AM »
I have a Voo Doo, and a Hex (yet to be drilled), and I was wondering if anyone has thrown both?

I have the Voo Doo polished with Neo Tac's Control-It, it was my dry lane ball until I got the AMF Kick.
(see my ball speed, many think it is strange to be able to use the Voo Doo on dry conditions)

I general terms, I know different layouts can give different reactions. I am thinking in much more simple terms than layouts.
Can you tell me if there is a difference in HIT, what kind of length difference between the 2---and which rolls up sooner etc.

Excaliber, I did not own both but have throw both with similar drill patterns. The Hex is longer and will cover less boards then the Voodoo. The Voodoo will read the midlane better before it flips. The flip on the Voodoo is more angular than that of the Hex. As for the hit, I would say the Voodoo seems to hit better, but its not by much. All in all, both are excellent balls. Good Luck!

BTW, have you drilled up and thrown the Spell yet?

How am I supposed to knock all 10 down with one ball?!?

Rock---i have not had time to drill up the spell for myself yet, I have been doing everyone else's stuff first. Probably next week I would guess. I will let you know what I think of it when I try it.

Hey EXCALIBER,
Ummm,I have a Spell,mines set at REV LEVERAGE.Its a pretty decent
and versatille ball for several conditions.

Its works really nice on the backends too,BUT its a DOOZY on flooded oil!
It dosent quite come back to the Ol' pocket!

Thats a quicky spot opinion.I do not know how you will drill your Track Spell.

This is my mini mini review experience I'm sharing with you, well if you decide to get and/or drill a Spell!!

Good Luck EXCALIBER on your experimentitos with Track!

Later Today I'm getting a Track Mitant Blem drilled, hoo hooo!!!

I'm done

Myth One: the Hex is longer than the Voodoo.  Nope, it just hooks less.  The Hex actually turns sooner (by about 3-4 feet) in box than does the Voodoo in box.

Myth Two: the Hex is stronger than the Voodoo.  Nope, just smoother to the pins.  The Voodoo is more angular and hooks further.

Myth Three: the Hex is for lighter oil conditions and the Voodoo mediumish.  Both are for mediumish conditions.  The fact is, the Voodoo is better for broken down lanes because it wants to go long and flip.  The Hex is a ball that despite its partial pearlization, reads the lane earlier.  It will slide more on oil than will the Voodoo, but neither is for light oil.

OK, so what does this mean? (I have owned 4 voodoos and 2 hexes.)  These two balls are alternatives, use them on similar conditions to give slightly different looks.  They do overlap.
