Track Hexplosion

I am looking at this ball for medium - dry conditions . I have read in bowling this month magazine reviews that this ball is good for this condition . If anyone is throwing this ball , I would like to hear from you . I found this ball on sale for $59.99 NIB not a blem . And I was thinking this is a particle ball and maybe this will give me a different reaction than my reative ball .
Thank you for your help and suggestion .

Very even rolling ball. Will handle lighter mediums very well. Well worth the investment! Particle cover lets it handle a tisker more oil and leads to a smooth breakpoint as well.

I just won one of these off ebay and was going to post how to drill it up. I wondered if this ball would work for s/d 3rd shift at the ABC?

Melvin45,

Wasn't trying to highjack your post.

I like the Hexplosion for med/light conditions. WIth the current layout I have on mine (pin 6 1/4 from PAP, CG 5 3/4 from PAP) I don't have a problem on drier conditions. It clears the heads very nicely and the light load particle keeps it from being too aggressive in the backends.

I also had one drilled with the pin under the ring finger and CG in palm and it worked very well on drier conditions as well. I put a coat of delayed reaction on this one.

shipper,

I think it would work well in  later shift at nationals. Ofcourse if you spray it right (for righties) then it will not recover unless your ball speed is super slow. But it will play well in the track area when everything else seems to be burning up.

Hey melvin,

The Hexplosion can be used on med/dry but depending on your game (if you're heavy handed), either you can drill it weaker or you add a good coat of polish to it to help it get downlane easier.  The particle does help it stay more on the smoother side in reaction.

Shipper,

Yes to you also, but here's my experience in 3rd shift.  It actually was 12 boards tighter then my doubles set so I ended up getting more oil in games 7-9 of the pattern, go figure.  The rest of the guys (20 of us) had the shot drier for them though on their respective pairs.  Maybe a little polish wouldn't hurt you either.

On a sidenote, notice we bowled with the same guys back home.  What was Baer's first name?  I initially thought Max but that's the guy from Berverly Hillbillys...lol  I was part of the Antonidas, Stout, Dillion and Armstrong group that went around bowling action.  My traveling companion was Abe (Pancho) Fernandez who was like God around the city then, 230's with urethane.

Here's my S/D experience at Nationals.  I had the lanes MUCH more open than in Team.  At least 5 boards (2 left of target, at least 3 right of target) more area than in team, I was using a moderately weak pearl (pin over bridge) and a polished solid (pin under bridge) with success.  Didn't carry all too well, but had NO trouble getting to the pocket.  Other balls were too strong (a stronger reactive with pin above ring and a stronger particle pearl with pin under ring, MB strong, little bit of polish) both in the heads and at the breakpoint.

Rick,

Your thinking of Gordy Baer. He is about 62-65 now? I know he still carries around 220 at Stardust in Merrilville. He is my bowling idol. I saw him shot 848 back in 82-83 season at the old Munster lanes..
