whats kinetic best on?
« on: November 15, 2007, 03:01:22 PM »
im looking 4 a ball that i can just throw 13-15 mph with 350-400 rpm and have a crazy backend snap and will work on fresh med with hitting power
will the kinetic work good on that?
or would u recommend a different ball?

Considering your slow ball speed and medium-high rev rate, I think the Kinetic might be too much ball for you on a medium pattern.

If you're considering Track, my suggestions would be a Temper, or one of the Equations (Equation or Equation 2).  The reason why I would choose one of these is because I think they'll be more controllable options for you than a Kinetic.  Best of luck to you in your search.

Vanni is right, OOB the Kinetic wont get down the lane for you with that slower ball speed. The Equations and the Temper wont snap as hard but they will start up to early and you wont get the flip. You may be able to control them better but they wont make down the lane long enough. The Kinetic would be your best bet. However I would take it to a 4000 Abralon with some Ebonite Factory finish or Magic shine over the top of it. This will help it skid more with your speed. The ball itself will make a good turn left regardless. The key here would be to match the layout and surface to your speed and rev rate.

So the Kinetic will or will not work with slower ball speed and low revs in place of urbanshaft's higher revs?

As Scoot pointed out... Kinetic at 4000 polished should work in combination with the provided attributes of his game.  Slow ball speed + med-high rev rate = Kinetic @ 4000 abralon with polish to get a longer push down the lane

I think you misunderstood what I was asking. I was asking about the Kinetic working with the same slow speed, but with low revs and not med-high revs. In other words, I was really asking for my style which is slower speed and low revs.

Brickguy,
It probably would work for you, but I'd suggest polishing it up so it'll get thru the heads more easily.  You also might wanna consider starting a bit further left than you're used to as well.

Put a 7" layout on it and you will get plenty of length. Dont put anything earlier. 7 3/16 is a kick butt layout in my opinion

You have described the Kinetic to a "T" but without knowing your axis tilt or rotation angle, this gets a little tricky.  I am 14.5mph with 350 rpms (pap 5 over 3/4 up) and on what I define as a medium condition (on synthetics), I'm standing pretty deep in order to get this ball down lane.  It does however have no problem in making the turn on the backend so long as you can get the ball to retain some of its energy.  I'd say you can fine it as well and/or add polish to help accomplish this. Hope this helps some...
