Santa Came Early
« on: December 05, 2008, 02:35:07 PM »
Just got my Xmas gift early from my wife. She got me a Track Kinetic Pearl. I was looking for some suggestions on the best drilling for this ball. Has anyone thrown this and have any recommendations? I've got a Dimension and an Ultra Zone now and those can be too much ball for the conditions that I bowl on so I was looking for something that gets down the lane but has a strong back-end. Also, has anyone here had any success with this ball?

Hey Grizfan,

Without knowing what your axis point is, I wouldn't be able to recommend a layout however, I can give you my thoughts on the ball as I have one in the arsenal right now.

The Kinetic Pearl reminds me very much of the reaction I got from an Equation. Maybe once you can tell what your axis point is, the guys will then follow with layout suggestions. I can tell you personally, if you dig skid/snap reaction, then you will love the Kinetic Pearl. Hope this helps! God Bless!

Hey Michael,

Thanks for the info. I found out that my PAP is 4 3/4" over X 3/4" up. I am not sure what I will get out of this ball so I thought I would ask someone here. I had a Twisted Fury that I drilled last year and thought that would be a ball that had a monstrous back-end. The Twisted slid way too much for me and this was after several re-drills/surface changes/etc to get a more aggressive reaction. It just didn't have the back-end. I've never thrown an Equation as this is my first Track ball. I've always been impressed when I see people throwing them but have never tried. I had a Storm Domination that I loved before our ball returns destroyed the track area of the ball. I'm hoping to get that from this ball.

griz. i drilled mine with a 5 inch pin and a 4 1/2 mass bias my pap is 4 3/4 across and 13/16 up with a low hole and mine flat out hooks on the backend this ball and the rising se are by far my favorite balls with the up-rising a close second i hope this helps.

I know a bowler that has one. Hes a cranker and has drilled it to backend as much as possible. He seems to like it.
