Arsengal Reactive vs. Solution Power Plus
« on: January 13, 2006, 03:34:56 AM »
Now I realise that these balls are quite different in terms of tech specs (and the arsenal is made for heavier oil), but I've heard it stated that the purple solution is stronger than it looks. Just wondering what the comparisson on these two balls are, if anyone has some insight.

Solution can be a benchmark ball (basically a Slash, slightly different cover, same shape core but different densities)...Arsenal Reactive, as you said, can handle a lot more oil. Reactive revs up very nice and can even kick the 10s out from deep as I found out last night.

Here's where I fess up on a lack of bowling knowledge. By benchmark ball, do you basically mean something to read the lanes with, but not use too much? Or just an "average" ball?

Benchmark as in a place to start. A benchmark ball should be an even rolling ball that does not overreact and can give you a true read on what the lanes are like. If the bench does not hook...probably need something that can handle more oil....bench goes crazy and hooks a ton....you need something that hooks less. Many people can successfully use a benchmark ball on many conditions, especially sport conditions and on typical house shots.

ie...it(Solution) flares less and can't be swung from quite as deep as the arsenal aggressive!  Therefore it is played with simpler lines and may handle an overreactive shot better!

Both good balls!

Hey blackdog,

You are correct in regards to the surprising strength of the Solution PP.  My Reactive however can handle the heavier oil better than the Solution.  I'd say the 2 balls are approximately 3-4 boards different in strength for the average tweener.
