Crash Vs. Desert Heat
« on: August 22, 2005, 04:37:10 PM »
Hey FASTTrackers,

I have come across a major debate on which ball I should use as my medium dry-dry lane ball. The two candidates are the Crash and Desert Heat.

My PAP is 5 X 1/2. Both balls are laid out with the same 4 1/2" Pin and this type of lay out, the balls have a very archy reaction shape. The Crash has a tiny weight hole while the Desert Heat didn't require one. Currently I have my Crash in the arsenal to take care of this, but I'm wondering if I should just use the Desert Heat as a tournament ball since it was designed for mostly dry lane conditions...or would I benefit more using the Desert Heat as a dry lane ball. I have been told that the Crash is a step up but every bowler's style varies and I'm a tweener with a rev rate of 350-390 the last time we checked my rev rate. Any help from the Track staffers, or anybody pro shop oriented would be greatly appreciated as I'm having a hard time since I have so many Track balls! Any other information needed, check out my profile...thanks and God Bless!!

Since you already have these balls, throw each of them side by side on the condition you would use them on and see which one you're more comfortable with. The Desert should do better on dry, and should still be playable on a medium dry shot, too. If you had to choose one, I would say the DH.
