Got my first Track ball...the Animal, initial thoughts
« on: September 04, 2004, 10:45:24 AM »
Decided to take the plunge in getting another heavy oiler as my V2 Particle has lost a lot of effectiveness through the years. Had this drilled out today, specs are in the profile. I like the fact that my driller took the time to discuss with me the variety of things I can do as far as the surface and weighthole in regards to this ball. Mine is sanded down to 800 grit- used it on a fresh oil shot at the pro shop's bowling center, and boy does this ball move!!! Could play the gutter with ease as well as swing from 12 to 2 and back. When I moved in deeper the ball didn't see enough oil and really made the turn quicker in the mid-lane, and when I threw it harder I could keep it in the hole from there but had trouble carrying the corner.

I think this ball will be a winner on heavy floods for me- I'd like to see how it will do on my home house reverse block shot Tuesday night. I will report back soon as I get more games on it...

Well, I guess they weren't kidding when they named the ball.

I've heard good things about this ball, if i didn't have an oiler, I'd probably get one.

Good luck.

I just saw a guy using one for the first time in my area last night.  He's a right handed tweener and needless to say, I was impressed.  I'm not sure how he had it drilled, but it went really long and then took a sharp left.  The hitting power was amazing!  I've got a Rule coming, but if I had the money I'd order up an Animal too!

Matt,

Im glad to hear that you are satisfied with the ball.
This ball in the oil is like a big kid(rick ) in the playgrounds.  We are looking forward to your feedback.  Have fun on Tuesday night!

Matt,

I am glad that you like the Animal thus far. I have not drilled one for a customer and them not like it.

The name really says it all about this ball.

I've tried this ball now in 3 houses on 3 different conditions and it's performed admirably on all three. This ball can carry well down and in just as well as it can from a deep inside swing line...

I expect a lot of big scores through the season with this ball when I get the chance to use it.
