I got more length out of the Threat than I did the Solution PPEX. The EX is a tremendous bowling balls. I was able to use it on almost any shot and have success.

It generally gives excellent length even on medium-light oil conditions, as long as there's some head oil. Backend is excellent with lots of hitting power and the merest semblance of control. Depending on oil patterns, drill and bowler's release, it is an excellent ball for medium-light to as much as medium oil; its ball path leans towards skid/flip but, again, a lot depends on drill, release, etc.

Cover is versatile, but I like it as it comes stock. Slight scuffing with nylon pads can add control and make the ball path "lean" more towards arc than hockey stick; further sanding, say, to 800-1200 grit, can make it handle medium oil or slightly heavier, if one so desires.

HEY TYLER!

I have to say that the Solution series in general was very overlooked, especially the EX. This ball was all about length and backend snap off the dry. Still kinda wish I had one but with all the balls I have now, there is no need for it! Hope this helps some buddy! God Bless You and have a great week!

the ppex is an awesome ball on med light to med heavy this is one of my favorite balls. It revs up nice and the carry potential i would have to rate very high .I know people say hit is not a good characteristic to judge ,but i honestly think this ball hits harder on the scale.

This ball definetly gets easy length with nice skid through the front part of the lane, and i would also definetly say it flips. So that must be why they call it a skid/flip ball lol

The hit is just unmatchable. I've never had a ball hit as hard as this one does. I thought my Inertia, and Equation hit hard, but boy they have completly different hits than my PPEX. The Solution PPEX just destroys the rack.

Sand it, or shine it, this ball is amazing. It takes cover changes so well, and when you change the cover it actually shows a big difference in reaction. I know when i sanded my Inertia, and polished it, it still reacted the same. I polish the Solution PPEX then it skid/flips. When i sanded the Solution PPEX it set up early and arced VERY hard. It was actually too much ball for my house shot. Yeah, the ball is pretty strong

BTW, when i said i sanded it, i sanded it to 1000 grit.
Hope this helps!

On a down note, I had a Solution PPEX that never really lived up to what others said. It did not get length for me, but rather started up in the mids and was more of a strong arc than a flip. It was an ok ball for me, nothing special. Again, this is probably just a case of a core/cover combo not matching up well with me.

I just never thought this ball was all that special.

mine  has a longer ,pin 5 inch, and it is layed out with the pin right and just above the ring finger. On the right condition the ball skids sets and flips hard to the pocket. You watch it skid and think its gone and then here she comes.I like mine too much oob to do anything to the surface.

Well I've bowled over 15,000 games in my life and it gave me my only 300.  It's my go to ball and will cover anything from med heavy to dry (not toast).
