Power machine--Coverstock troubles?
« on: April 18, 2007, 12:52:10 PM »
A friend of mine bough the track power machine earlier this year.  He cleans his stuff regularly, but lately has seemingly seen a drop in the performance level of his ball.

Earlier in the year, the ball seemed much stronger off the dry boards, but now it seems kind of lazy, getting back late and leaving washouts on shots that made it back to the pocket earlier in the year.

The center hasn't changed the shot lately ( last few weeks anyway ), and his roto grip RS-1 still makes the corner the way it did earlier this year.

Does this cover soak up oil quickly ( similar to a dynothane soaker?), or is it just time for the hook again treatment to see if that helps.

Ball can't have over 200 games on it and , like stated before, has been cleaned after every set ( or at least that is what I am told ).

I have not seen loss of reaction in any of mine...but my dad see some in his so I just put a fresh surface on the ball......here is what I did(after trying many things and not getting close enough): I hit it by hand with a 500 abralon pad, taking all of the gloss off of the ball then I hit it by hand with 1000 abralon. Next I just went over it VERY LIGHTLY with NEO TACs Renew it. worked like new for him.

Goodluck,
Carl
