The Track Blog!
« on: April 17, 2006, 02:08:27 PM »
Hey FASTTRACKERS and REVOLUTIONISTS!

I came up with this idea to start this blog tonight!

What is it about? If you throw Track then its really simple...tell us your stories, whether it be leagues, tournaments or regionals...post it here..if you got a new Track ball, talk about it here...like your layout? Hate the layout? Let us know about it on here...In a few weeks I'll be in the roll off in my All-Star league and I have to credit Track with my success! So anyways, just something fun here to start...sort of like a journal per say...if you got something to tell and it has to do with Track...POST IT HERE! God Bless You all and have a great week!

Hey Guys,

Scratch League for the Summer started last night. Used Robo Rule # 2 - Pin Below for the whole night. Shot 674, two missed ten pins in the 2nd frame of the 1st game and 9th frame of the 3rd game more than likely cost me a 700 plus 1st place money in brackets! Overall, had a great night, this new Robo Rule is giving me a better look everytime I pull it out of the bag! It's also PLAYOFF nights as I stated in the other thread of mine...We are about an hour and a half away and I'm still a ball of nerves at this point and time! I'm bringing everything of my arsenal except the GP2, Machine, Delta 1, and Solution Solid...these four haven't given me the best look at the house I'm having the roll off in; however, the rest of 'em are coming with me just incase! Well, I hope for the best and here goes nothing! God Bless You all and have a wonderful week! BTW, where is everybody? I wanna read some more stories on here! LOL! Cya!

May 9-10, 2006:

Well guys, another one of my youth bowlers besides Dain looked at my Rule Delta 1 last night and the look on his face said to me he pretty much wanted it. So in that light, I sold him that one. However; I then took the opportunity to do some researching and being at the pro shop last night found that my buddy Nathan had one in stock! Now, I have had a third Rule Delta 1 punched up. Went with a simple Pin Below the Ring Finger layout. I don't have the current specs just yet; however, I will do all that research tonight and more than likely I will be putting out another video for it as well! I'll also post tonight after I bowl Scratch League as well! God Bless You All and have a great week!

After talking to Excaliber on the phone, I decided to pull out my Artillery and take it to league sweepers on my Tues Nite scratch league.  Had to work on the thumb cause I'm gaining weight..lol  Haven't thrown the ball for awhile, bowling pretty well with my Machine and Solution PP.

Get to league, throw 3 shadow balls with it. Proceeded to go front 8, 10 pin stopped me, ended up 267.  First time I've bowled this league, we move pairs for sweepers, pretty cool.  2nd game they were drier, got lined up and went 223.  Move to the last pair and they were tighter, watching my lead off, moved to it and went front 7 for another 267...WOW!  Ended up 757 and 787 w/cap, finished 2nd in sweepers, missed it by 5 pins, I was high man in scratch but the other guy had more cap.  Don't know why I've left it in the shop so long, it just carried the pins like there was no tomorrow, I didn't even throw some of the shots that well but the ball still carried.  It's definitely going back in the bag!  Now I know why Duck loves his so much, great ball!  Thanks for the ear.....

A pretty good night tonight thanks to the Rule. I've been helping out down at the centre and i've got our condition pretty much right for now(open up those outside 10 boards and the fun starts!!) Started off with the Aggressive for game one with a 190. Was just in the dirt going up 8 board and had to pitch it a hair faster than i would have liked. So 2nd game it was out with the Rule. Better length and bit of hold against the oil (where the the particle ball wanted to keep biting and moving) and 225 was the result. 3rd game, first 3, yank one high for a 4-9, 5 strikes, ring 10, strike for 245 was a good finish, tripped a couple 4 pins but i'll call that game 11 for 11 for pocket hits for 9 X's!! Stupid 4-9!!!!, 3/660 still a more than passable nights work. Oh and next week the Freak should be arriving too, might be an oldie but its new to me!!

Ended my 2005-2006 winter league on Monday nights with the RoboRule all 3 games. It was position round and we were in 10th place for the half, bowling against the same team as last week that flip-flopped positions with us. Felt good in warmups with a couple of different shots, based on what I've been seeing of the pattern lately I feel more comfortable playing inside the oil than trying to gun it off the gutter.

First game was a 236, 8 strikes, 3 single pins (all 7 pins, one missed). We lost game one by 66 pins, thanks to their anchor bowler throwing a 246 (190 average). Game two I was able to play a little deeper (moved 17-8 off the original 15-8 line) and managed to throw 10 strikes, 1 7 pin and 1 10 pin. A clearn 258 game, and once again we lost by 21 pins. The final game I didn't make the transitions early enough (needed to get the ball further out around the carrydown) and I shot a 203. My 697 was the high on the pair and we won 1 out of 5 points for the evening.

Overall considering everything that has happened over the season (adding to my family, my mom passing away) I was very happy to average 217.15 for the season. Thanks to Track for making such awesome equipment, I did super this season thanks to the RoboRule, Havoc, Slash, Animal and Solution Power Plus Ex I used off and on all season...

Hey Guys,

Summer leagues getting underway down here...and I'm starting off in a slump! First week was great as I pulled a 674 out. Last two weeks we have bowled scratch league have gone to complete crap! 589 and 609...average is at 208. Trying some new stuff and this person attempting to help me has got me all outta whack! Then says he wants me to do some tournaments...was suppose to go to Birmingham this weekend, but due to poor performance I don't really too much care to waste the money...not being confident in your ability pretty much sums up how the summer is going for me...stuff has been kind of a drag lately...fixing to take days off and see if it works! Also, I'm expecting my Crunch Time from Steve (Rev_o_lutions) sometime this week, possibly even today maybe...plus I've offered Ryan (Rock77) for his 5.0...the 5.0 is probably a mistake but I think I'm going to fool around with it and see if I can come up with some creative drilling for it! Well, I'm gone until next time! God Bless You All! I hope I'm not becoming a backslidden christian, I feel like I am though..hopefully this will end very soon! Thanks!

The start of my Thursday night sport shot league in Merrimack, NH began this evening. We have 14 trios teams that are from all parts of MA and NH- I travel an hour away to bowl this league as it's one of my highlights for the summer to really see where my game is at and what I need to work on. We usually bowl on 5 different patterns over the course of the summer, shortest being 30' and the longest being 50' with different volumes of oil that are sport compliant. We also rotate patterns in and out every week so you never see the same pattern two weeks in a row. Tonight we started with the 41' pattern, but it sure didn't play like it did last year. There was zero back end movement at the end of the pattern, and on Brunswick Anvilane that can mean a long night. I saw people leaving pocket 5-10's (right-handers) with 220 grit sanded The Ones. So my course of action was to take my RoboRule and play off the gutter, trying to keep the ball speed soft and direct the ball on an angle to the pocket. I didn't want to get into too much trouble on this pattern and didn't count on a ton of strikes, my mission was to keep the counts up and cover the spares.

I started the night with a 181, 4 strikes, 2 splits and all other spares covered. Didn't have a double until the 10th and 11th frames. Game two I started upping the ball speed when the carrydown hit and made many poor shots towards the end of the game. Another split and two 3-5 chops equals a 166 second game, my low game of the night. I changed my wrist position to more of a forward roll motion, lowered myself in the stance a little more and tried to get the ball on the lane earlier. Game three would be my highest of the night, including a 6 bagger at the end for a 224.

So I start the sport league with a 571 and have good hopes to keep my average above 190 for the summer season. Brought 5 Track balls with me to the league and will continue to do so- I'll keep you updated on the progress.

Well my summer leagues are underway.  I had to pre bowl for next week in both of my leagues because I am heading to Virginia next week for vacation.  I am bowling horrible.  I have got into such a slump in the last month that I it seems that no matter what I do it only gets worse.  I am currently bowling in 2 league one of which is a sport shot league. Right now as I sit I am carrying a 184 ave in one league and a 164 ave in the sport shot league. The other night i shot 258 for my first game.  I was pretty happy, however it all went down hill from there.  I didn't even manage to break 600. Anyways, hope thus far everyone is having a great summer. For those of you that are bowling this summer good luck.

The question isn't why do I throw all Track, it's why don't you.

Arsenal includes:
Rule GP2, Rule Delta 1, Slash, Heat Blast, Heat,  Desert Heat, Pearlized Triton Elite

Some more updates from Huntsville!

Recently purchased the X-Ception 5.0 (my 3rd one) and I actually like this one, third time was the charm on this one...however it wasn't third time was the charm on the Rule Delta 1. My favorite one was my first one, the other two I purchased just didn't seem to work quite as well...so I sold my second one to one of my youth bowlers that I coach, his name is Zach. He currently possesses the Crash and Rule Delta 1 therefore making him eligible to become member number 7 of Evolution! I went with Pin Below the Ring Finger on the third Delta and had minimal success with it. I just got to the point where I looked at Bradford and said, "$100 for it, pay me when you can!" Just like that it was his...about a month ago I sold my Artillery to my friend Chris to replace his "Fired-Up!". I sold my first Robo Rule to the "Beast" Dain Stewart and he's been red hot as of late shooting 2 more 600 + series since purchasing the ball! I sold my Solution Power Plus to the "Gin" Willie Turner as soon as the Crunch Time arrived! So now I'm carrying the new Robo Rule, Machine,
X-Ception 5.0, Crunch Time and Desert Heat with me to league. It is a well rounded 5 ball arsenal in my opinion. First two sets in league with the 5.0 have been 718 and 693! I feel like the slump is over with and anything is possible! Anyways, that's an update from Huntsville! God Bless You All and have a great weekend!

HEY FASTTRACKERS,

Well, thank God I'm still riding high after league tonight. Started off using the X-Ception 5.0 for the first two games, missed a 10 pin in the 10th frame of the 1st game for 234. It could've been at least 245 if I wouldn't have missed! Second game, I'm a 280 pace until the 6th frame comes along and I got the ball out in the dry way too early and left the 3-4-6-7-10. With a slight chuckle I looked at my teammates and said, "watch this!" and actually converted it which was pretty sweet! However, the next frame the ball catches some carrydown and I leave the 2-8-10 and convert just the 2-8. Find the pocket in the 10th but leave a single pin and convert. For my fill shot I switch to the Robo Rule and absolutely crush the pocket and decide to go with the Robo Rule for the third game. So with 234 and 211 under my belt I use the Robo Rule the entire 3rd game and this ball just eats through the carrydown (we had some beginner bowlers on the opposite team throwing Maxims and White Dots). I end up striking out with the last 5 for 236 and shoot 681 for the night. Dropped my average to a 233!

I also got to give mad props to Michael Bradford who is better known on here as "The Original Chewmiester". Michael started the league off last week with a 487 and after selling him the Rule Delta 1, he turned it up quite a few notches and showed off with a 650 series! I'll let him talk more about it but that was just some of the most incredible bowling I've seen Bradford pull off in a long time, I'm very proud of him! Well, until next time God Bless You All and have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Haven't posted on here for a while but just couldn't resist.

I have been bowlwing in a sport league for 5 weeks now and I haven't been very pleased with my performance even though it hasn't been that bad.

Well after bowling in my THS league tonight it made me realize why I like to bowl on a sport shot. My THS performance is going up in leaps and bounds due to the sport shot league IMHO. In the 4 weeks of the THS league I have shot 596, 610, 635 and 676 with high games of 258, 255 & 248. I finished the fall season with a 191 and after a month I am averaging 209.75 on the same shot. The biggest difference I am seeing though is my spare game in the last 2 weeks I have been clean other than  a 4 pin where I stuck at the line. I think I only had 1 clean set the entire season. I have also only had 1 game under my last season finishing average which was in week 1 with a 175 and that was due to me being to stubborn to put my Machine away and grab my Rule.

I have to give some credit to my Machine and Rule though, these 2 are just a perfect 1-2 punch for me on this pattern and both are extremely consistent.

I know some don't consider these to be great numbers but I am pleased none the less.

Great to hear about all the success stories with Track. A minor success to report here regarding the Lilac Tournament in Rochester, NY. The tournament consists of a team event held in one house (Gates Bowl, 48 lane synthetic center) and a doubles/singles event (Olympic Bowl, 80 lane wood center). The shot was an ego humbling experience for 90% of the bowlers, a little bit tougher than the nationals shot for most. The doubles/singles house was a 15-10 shot with slow speed, precise release and timing necessary to carry the corners. Errant shots outside of target, washouts or sometimes gutter balls- inside of target, crossover city. The teams house was a 20-15 shot, outside 12 boards were flood city. Similar timing/release issues necessary at this house. I used my RoboRule, Animal and Havoc for 2 doubles/singles sets and then the RoboRule and Solution Power Plus Ex at the 2 team events. I averaged 200 for 18 games, including a clean 638 set (194-244-200) at Gates Bowl on Saturday afternoon with the Solution Power Plus Ex. Out of the 10 guys that went with me on this trip, I was the high average out of them all. I feel like the equipment I had on me worked to my benefit on a challenging tournament condition.
