Title: The Track Blog!
Post by: SteveAustin2808 on April 17, 2006, 02:08:27 PM
Hey FASTTRACKERS and REVOLUTIONISTS!

I came up with this idea to start this blog tonight!

What is it about? If you throw Track then its really simple...tell us your stories, whether it be leagues, tournaments or regionals...post it here..if you got a new Track ball, talk about it here...like your layout? Hate the layout? Let us know about it on here...In a few weeks I'll be in the roll off in my All-Star league and I have to credit Track with my success! So anyways, just something fun here to start...sort of like a journal per say...if you got something to tell and it has to do with Track...POST IT HERE! God Bless You all and have a great week!

Well, I guess I'll get things started. I've been a follower of Track for about 2 years, since discovering some of the great pro shop people on the board like tenpinspro, Excaliber, Clint Daley and so forth. My most recent foray into the Track line was the Solution Power Plus Ex. I needed something to push in my Monday night league that plays very wet/dry on the left side- outside 5 boards are screaming, inside of 7 has a ton of oil. I was having minor success playing inside out with the RoboRule in game one but usually by game two the head oil would go away...

Anyways, since using the Solution Power Plus Ex for 9 games in this league I've averaged 227.11, my low game being a 183 and my high being a 259 with this ball. Keeps the pins nice and low and plenty of mixing action on the light hits as well as pushing them back on the flush hits.

Also- makes life a whole lot easier to pick out the ball on the return amongst all the Vertigos and Big Ones I've been seeing.

We'll see how this ball fares in tournaments coming up, but I think this will be a permanent arsenal ball for me.

Tonight I was subbing for my boss; it was very unexpected and I didn't have any equipment on me. I did however have my back up pair of shoes and the original X-Ception in the pro shop to throw so I pulled that out. I have been in sort of a semi slump lately; however after Easter Sunday Church Services, I was very full of life and energy afterwards! I didn't start the night off too good missing an easy 2 pin spare and 10 pin spare...but shot 237, 246, 246 for 729! Haven't put up good scores like that in awhile so it was very refreshing! I have my Rule and X-Ception in the shop because I'm going to experiment with the inter-changable thumb inserts with both of these balls. Wednesday Night Scratch League is over with and we finished second! Now I'm concentrating all of my practice on the All-Star Thursday Night League roll off that is coming up in 3 weeks! I'm very psyched about this and am very hopeful! The lanes tonight were very playable, though they usually aren't because of the 5 man team format. I am pleased with finishing the Scratch League at 210 this year! Although I did set a goal of a 1 pin increase per season! Oh well! Maybe next season will be different! Until Thursday Night! God Bless You all and have a great week!

Great idea Michael,

I was actually going to start something like this for people to compare reactions (likes/dislikes) on what balls and so on.  I felt it would help overall for (us) bowlers to see what balls on an average would work better or on what conditions.

Was supposed to be shooting video of my Track arsenal on pattern B/Shark but that got messed up. Went in early and had just got done putting the shot down when we had issues with a machine that required my assistance so I didn't get a chance to bowl. I proceeded to ask the counter person to not put anyone on that pair unless absolutely needed and explained why. About 3 hours before close well what do you know she put a group of 10 on that pair even though 13,14,15, & 16 were empty. By the time they were done the shot was destroyed. 2 guys using Rampages, 1 using a Big One and the rest were no thumbers using house balls so you can imagin what the shot was like. I did get a good laugh out of it though when I asked them how they liked the way the lanes played. One of them responded by saying "What was wrong with them, the ball wouldn't recover when you sent it out by the gutter." I chuckled and told them "nothing you were bowling on a PBA pattern."

Well since the shot was destroyed I decided to put tape on my Robo and Machine so I could better see when they start to flare/migrate and where the final axis point was. I placed tape from my axis to above the fingers and a couple of squares where I expected the axis to migrate through.
After getting home and reviewing the clips I noticed something that I find to be odd. The axis of both balls as they are entering the pocket appears to be close to grip center, I was expecting it to be much lower and down by the thumb.
Does this seem odd to anyone else?
Something else I noticed was that I come very close to hitting the balance hole on the Robo. I looked and there are track burns about 1/2" from the balance hole. I didn't think anything could flare that much for me.

Had some good experiences with my gear at a team tournament on the weekend just gone, found the backends at this place a little too much for my Aggressive and the Phenom was a little too much ball overall so it was out with the Blue Triton and Elite pearl for most of the 20 games(over 3 days, 5 man teams) My Old Revolution got some play too for a go longer 'strong' ball, the Freak(with high pin position) and Rule will soon share this spot though. back to the Blue Triton though, i challenge anyone to find a better ball to control the wet dry that strong stuff gives you fits on, not a hit of flip even with a strong pin position! The Aggressive and Phenom may have been useable from inside 5th arrow to catch some head oil, and on the 3rd day i used the Revolution up 10bd when a bit more oil got put down. Cant wait for the next lot of stuff to get into the bag(and finally that real old stuff i keep reviving can soon go into honorable retirement!!)

Hey Guys!

I guess I could let everyone in on what my arsenal consists of, so here it goes!

Equipment That I use for League Nights:
Robo Rule (Slick stuff!)
Machine (When the Robo starts breaking too much!)
Arsenal Artillery (When the Machine lacks backend reaction!)
Solution Power Plus EX (When I need a tamer backend reaction and the AA jumps quicker than expected!)
Heat Blast (When I need a smoother reaction and not as much backend as the Solution EX!)
Desert Heat (What everybody has this ball for! The driest conditions and driest of dry shots!)

Other Equipment I Have but is sitting in the living room floor in my house:
Rule Delta 1, Solution Power Plus Solid, and Rule GP2. I'm thinking of bringing the Delta back out into circulation. The GP2 is an experimental ball that I rarely use and I'm trying to convince Clint to buy it from me! The Solution I'm thinking of plugging it and laying it out differently to see how well it would work for me. Not sure yet though!

The layouts are in my profile if anyone is interested, as well as pictures showing you the layout! My favorite has definitely been the Robo; however, I don't think I could spazz out like Clint has on his All Robo Rule arsenal!

Just kiddin' Clint! God Bless You All and have a great week!

Ah Track.  First Track I had ever throwing was the Orginal Triton Heat.  It was a 14lb ball.  Shot my first 600 with it (664).  Shot my first 700 (709) with a KO Punch.

I had decided to get back into the sport after taking a 7 month break from it.  I had been in a real slump and if felt like the more I tried the worst I got. When I finally got back into the game a couple months ago, I decided in was time for a change in my equipment.  Previously I was pretty much throwing all Ebonite, however I was not really satisfied with them.  Basically the 2 best balls in my bag were may Freak A Zoid and my Pearlized Triton Elite.  After getting rid of all my equipment (with the exception the Tracks) I started to rebuild.  Now I stand here 3 months later with probably the best line up of equipment that I have ever owned.  I have made so much of an improvement to my game since last year that it is not even funny.

I'm not going to lye.  A major part of me going back to Track was the rerelease of the Heat.  In my opinion it is the best ball that any company has ever produced.  I bought one 2 weeks after I started back. It is pin in with 2 1/4 oz of top weight.  Couple days after getting it I stopped by my local pro shop to have a different ball (TKO Contender) plugged and redrilled.  The pro shop had sitting in the floor a 15lb triton heat.  It wasn't in the best of shape.  But for $15 for the ball plugged, gripped, and slugged it was a great deal.  After the ball was plugged I resurfaced it and restored it to the OOB condition and it worked great. I didn't realize until later on however that the used one I had picked up was also pin in.  After taking it to the proshop I found out that it had 2 oz of top weight.  The next day (Yesterday) I came back with my Heat.  I had my driller layout and drill the ball identical to the used one I was throwing.  I took it out after drilling and was comparing the 2 balls together.  In my amazement they where actually the exact same ball.  There was not difference between the 2.  I give Track massive Kudos on the remake.  I was very skeptical that there would be a difference in the 2 but I found none.  In matter of fact I went on to throw a 664 OOB the box with the Heat.  Oddly enough as mentioned previously 664 was my 1st 600 ever shot, even wierder though was that I was on the same pair of lanes that I shot my first 600, not to mention the fact that 664 is the highest series I have shot since coming back to bowling 3 months ago.

I also had success thus far with my Xception. Last Tuesday I picked up a NIB Xception for $60.  It was the last one available. 3" pin 4 1/4 oz on Top weight. I had it drill stacked and then sanded it down to 400.  I wanted the ball to fit in nicely between my Delta One and Heat Blast. The ball did just that.  OOB I shot 657 with it.

--------------------
The question isn't why do I throw all Track, it's why don't you.

Arsenal includes:
Rule GP2, Rule Delta 1, Xception, Heat Blast, Heat,  Desert Heat

I've been using tracks only since December 2005. You see, my relatives wanted to give me a birthday/Christmas gift (my birthday is late November). They know I bowl and asked me about my bowling...I replied that was nice and that I was a track bowler. I meant a 10 board bowler, they took it to me that I liked Track bowling balls. And...,so, I received my first track from them....an Xception 5.0 for my birthday (I just turned 50....nice reminder hugh!), and the Xception for Christmas. Great relatives. They worked great as the center I bowl at (Holiday Bowl in Albuquerque, NM)was keeping the lanes somewhere from dry to medium oil. For heaver stuff, I purchased a Rule, liked that but not as much as it seems to leave 10 pins for me, and then my center changed oiling practices. Went to heavy oil. So, first a GP2....which is great with oil, not so without, and then a Rule Delta 1. Soon I began reading about the Robo Rule and had to try one, and I did - which I really like. By the way, all are 14 pounds or so in weight. That lead to a Machine - which is outstanding on medium oil, just wonderful. And then a Desert Heat, for those times when there is no oil out there. I picked up a Hex-plosion used for a song ($10) just because it's a track
I sold my Rule Delta 1 to a friend since I was using mainly the Robo Rule and he was constantly asking if he could use it (the Delta) anyway. I've found that I can use an inside line with Tracks, when it's not too oily out there anyway. All in all, I've become a Track believer. Poorer true, but a true believer!
Long Live The Revolution!

I've seen a lot of posts on here lately that talk about the new releases coming from Track. I believe that this is a good thing because during last season, I noticed alot of releases rather quickly. I believe with Del back on, we will see better releases but not as quickly...this is a good thing in itself and I believe the new equipment will be worth the wait! Feel free to comment on this! God Bless You and have a great week!

I know I can't wait for the new stuff....

Also...my thumb started sticking last week...not because of bad habits, but because how humid it was affecting the tackiness of the cover, thus without a slug, I had a tendency to feel the ball not want to come off right away...so what did I do....I slugged all my stuff...its a work in progress as I ran out of slugs...which leads me to the next item...when I threw the ones I got slugged, without grips, it just didn't feel like I was getting anything on the ball. I was coming out of the thumb so quick and clean, it felt like the ball was dropping off my hand before I got a chance to hit it. So, back to the press and added grips to all my stuff....and then promptly ran out of my grip sizes half way through....luckily, my dist is only a day shipping away, and I received both yesterday, so I can have the rest finished and completed for Inter City this weekend.....

Thursday Night (April 20, 2006)

We bowled our league tonight, with 2 weeks to go we can't win the third quarter; however, we sealed up the 2nd quarter, thus, we are in the playoff. We are trying to get fully prepared for this. I am ready for this roll off! I have never been so pumped for a moment in my life! Started off tonight with the Arsenal Artillery and by the end of the first game, it was jumping alot. Went to the Robo Rule and used that pretty much the rest of the night. Shot 615, nothing major but I did win all 5 of my individual points. I've already sealed up Individual Match Points for the league, which I am very thrilled and its a total honor as well. This is the most serious league to compete in, in Northern Alabama! We also have this special MVP award which has been purely traditional since the leagues introduction back in 1991. I gained some needed points tonight over one of the best bowlers I believe is, in the state of Alabama. His name is Tony Churchey (not sure if any of you have heard of him or not) however, I have the utmost repsect for him! He is one of the guys I look up to bowling with here in town. So all in all a decent week, not one of the best...It's definitely going to take a whole lot more than shooting 615 to win this league! So anybody care to chime in on their league experiences or tourney experiences? This is the blog for you guys! Anyways, thats my story of the week! I'll post another blog sometime Sunday night. I'm attending Del's "Pure Approach" seminar. Can't wait for this! Will let you guys know how it went! God Bless You All and have a great week!

Well FastTrackers...

Rev O and I are off this weekend to bowl in the Ohio Inter City tourney in Toledo....I finally got the rest of my balls gripped and slugged last night, but did not have time to throw all of them...in fact, I only tried 4, and they were all good to go with 2 pieces of white tape, so I figured the rest would be close/same. Decided for sure last night to take all 10 Robos...

I will report back Monday with the results...hopefully, they will be ok.

Well I am going to get in this stuff so here we go. I for the longest guy was a per columbia guy. I used a columbia messenger ti solid, a icon and that was about it. I did know track was around I even looked at some of the older balls as they came out. The first ball that I wantedn was the freak. I dint have the money so I didnt buy it. The years went buy and my icon started to die out. I learned this at our highschool district tournaments. I was using evering thing in my bag and I just couldt get the ball back to the pocket.

I at the time was working at the bowling ally where carl works. He was just starting the proshop and he was just about to sign his track contract. He had bought a animal and he showed me the data and the core. I was amazed by the core. I had to have it in my bag. I told carl to order me one. He looked at me and said how you paying. I said I will use what I make everynight and just give it to you. He said ok and ordered me it. When it came in I was happy. We drilled it up and I didnt like it to start because the lane I rolled it on was to dry. He then said let me show you somthing. He took out the mop and wen tand put 45 feet of gutter to gutter of straight mop oil. That is alot of oil be put on a lane. I used the animal and I rolled it over 15 and out to 8 and came back to the pocket so well. I looked back and said holy @#%&. Carl just laught and said see I told you that ball was awsome.

I used this ball to death even on shots it wasnt ment for. I didnt care it became the ball I could trust. It was for almost a year the first ball out of the bag and always the last to go back in. That ball started the love for track. It gave me my first 700 set in almost 2 years. I ended up jumping on the track band wagon. I was looking to buy somthing to complament my animal. Then I got my hands on my havoc. Yet that is a story for anouther time. I can honestly say that if I have used my animal for a entire set that I have never shot under 655. I know it is hard to belive that you can say that with a ball, but I know I have not always been able to use it all three games. I just love this ball and even though it is 16lbs and I know use 15, it is still in the bag. I leave it in because I know that I can trust it.

Scores with animal (Sence I bought it.) 210+236+255=701(FIRST IN 2 YEARS), 279x7(all in a two week period.), 277x2, 225+215+210=650, 235+240+202=677, 207+235+225=667(College tourny. I also shot a 161, but I didnt bowl the entire game I went in for the 7th frame on and struck out for the 161 and beat my man who was winning befor I got in. I beat him by 20 pins and also gave us the win for total by 1 pin.)

Hey Guys,

Told you I would be posting soon as I got home from the Pure Approach Seminar. Del never ceases to amaze me with the information and knowledge he has inside that brain of his. I learned a few things wrong with my game and I'm going to be practicing alittle bit more this week with the techniques he told me to try. I also had another Robo Rule punched up (not quite as obsessive as Clint! ) However, Del recommended a 50 X 4 1/2 X 20, Pin Below the Ring Finger layout with the MB at 5 o'clock and a small weight hole to go with it. I haven't thrown it yet, but, rest assured FASTTRACKERS I will have a video to go with this one coming very soon! It was also felt very good when I first arrived at the center this morning. When Del arrived, he walked up to me and said, "Mike Price right? I've heard alot about you! It looks like you are "Tracked" out today aren't you?" It was the coolest thing in the world to have that kind of admiration from one of the top guys in Bowling. Well, that's all I have to say! Will be posting after position round Thursday Night in my All-Star league until then...well I may post sooner with my practice session, not sure; however, until then God Bless You all and have a great week!

Wanted to post about the success of my dad with his recent first foray into the world of Track, the Arsenal Reactive. Tonight he threw his highest game in probably a good 25 years, started with the front 7 before leaving a 9 pin, then a solid 10 pin and striking out for a 268. He followed it up with a solid 226 game but then his back was hurting him and he had trouble punching out a 160 the last game. For 71 he can still throw the ball well...

As for myself, decided to get the Animal out of the archives and between that and the RoboRule playing deeper inside (17 out to about 9 at the breakpoint) with slower ball speed and a little more forward roll, I managed to pull together a 224-210-194= 628 set. Had a poor 7 pin night (missed 3) and had pocket 6-8 to start the night, otherwise I felt good about my performance.

I have a tournament in Shelburne, VT to head to this weekend, going to pack at least 3 Track balls in the mix (RoboRule, Havoc, Solution Power Plus Ex) among the 7 I'm taking. 16 lane wood house, the tournament shot tends to be strong mid-lanes and backends with a lighter volume of oil...

Alright guys, finished up the All-Star league with a 212 average! Achieved my goal of 1 pin every year + 1! Waiting on the updated final standings to see if if I kept my MVP status. I shot 686 and won all of my individual points as well! If you believe I'm not pumped up for the playoffs next week, your crazy! I am so psyched! This is going to be a true challenge! I also finally received my 299 Game Ring last night as well. This has a pretty blue sapphire gem it has in it! We also got some good shots for the documentary as well. I have a half an hour movie rolled into a week! Be on the look out for that as well, I feel very proud of that as well for you guys to watch! Track has definitely been great to me this year! However, MOST IMPORTANTLY I have been truly blessed by God! Any accomplishment I've achieved this season has been because of Him first and foremost! I am proud to be a born-again Christian! No one will ever take that away from me! Well, it is going to be a hectic week coming up attempting to prepare for this playoff! God Bless You All, let's take care of each other and have a great week!

A different story. I'm a mid 180's bowler. Last night I rolled a decidedly unexceptional 530 using the Track Solution Power Plus EX and the Desert Heat. I thought I would tell this just because it's not a 700 story just a very ordinary night using a new ball to start off with. Lanes started off moderately dry which was the precise reason I had just purchased the Solution PP EX. And it worked, as long as I hit my mark, which was a problem all night. This was the first time I used the ball and had it drilled ring finger about an inch to the left of the pin. Nothing exceptional. I hit the pocket and got tapped on my first ball of the night, and promptly missed the 10 pin. After that it was alternating two strikes and a split, two strikes and a split, two strikes, nine spare and nine count in the 10th. All for an average 183. Each split was my fault, pulling the ball. Second game, lanes breaking down even more, having to adjust a board or two every other shot. Couldn't seem to buy a strike as I wasn't hitting the pocket very well. Of course hitting my mark with some degree of consistency would have helped. The Solution PP EX is a great ball if you hit your mark. If you miss to the right (being right handed, oh, I was playing over the 10 board down and in, or trying to that is)it will try to come back but not quite make it. If you pull it, if there is oil in the center, will hit the head pin with the usual results. In the 6th frame, I switched to the Desert Heat because the Solution was breaking too much. (The Desert Heat is drilled with the bridge directly under the pin, holes squarely in the Track logo.) Opened in the 10th with a split. 170 game score. In the third....ended up with a 177, opening in the 10th once more when my Columbia Blue Dot hooked three boards. (That's twice this week that has happened to me. Really dry out there.) Still, the Desert Heat amazed me once more with it's power. When I hit the pocket, the pins didn't have a chance. It was just that I was terrible last night. And I still had a 530. Speaks well for Track bowling balls. A couple of things I noticed. First of all, on dry lanes (not scorched with no oil present anywhere), with still some oil scattered about, if you hit your mark, the Solution PP Ex and Desert Heat will destroy the pins. If you miss, especially to the right of your mark, the ball will try to come back, and you might get lucky with carry, but more often it won't quite make it. This is unlike the Machine, Robo Rule, Exception, Exception 5.0 which are more forgiving, in my opinion. Secondly, these moderately priced Track balls still hit like...well like Tracks! Especially true of the Desert Heat which is the equal in power to any other ball, or at least close to it, or even more powerful, I believe. It's a wonder.

Conclusion....even if you're struggling, Tracks still hit like tanks, and can get you out of a lot trouble. As it was...if I had hit a 10 pin in the first game it would have been in the 190's, if I hadn't opened in the tenth in the last two games I would have had scores in the 180's at least. Great equipment Track. Now...how about a particle pearl with the core of the machine? :-)

well Jason came down today and carl drilled up his delta and i hit the lanes a bit with him. I just have to say out of what he rolled and I seen the delta was the strongest ball through out the lane he had and it reved the most. I also made fun of him when it got dirty but i ended up cleaning it because i couldnt take looking at such a dirty ball. Um jason if you want my right arm and the owners man. are for sale. I mean you said you wanted my REVS. LOL.

What a difference some tape makes!!! Been having lots of trouble lately with what should be my no.1 medium ball the Havoc. On a hunch today i pulled it out for some practice and started messing with the thumb tape. Instead of 4 bits in the front i changed it to 2 in the front 1 in the back, all of a sudden i dont have it hanging on my thumb and whack!! 254-245 standing on 10 the first game and 15 the second and just rolling it to 10 at the break. The Havoc is back!!

Got a very pleasent surprise when i got home this afternoon, a box with a RULE inside, having someone to buy gear off with  the same span and thumb i sgreat, just change grips and away we go!! This thing is great on the fresh, not as grabby as the strong drilled Arsenal Aggressive i've got(drilled pin next to ring, kicked out cg, Rule is pin uder ring, cg just off grip centre no hole, strong MB) so is a way better fit for the fresh house condition. Played pretty straight with it and ground out a 601(better than the 540 and 550 sets i've been coughing up lately, youch!!) Had a couple of tosses after leauge from inside 4th arrow and gave it some!! No trouble making it back with some power applied where the stroke release forced me out side to play around the carrydown in the track area. With some hand it just roared to the hole through the  transition(played the same shot with the Agressive for comparison purposes and that thing went as close a ball can go to gapping the 8-9 on a good rack!!! talk about entry angle!!) This thing is awesome and will get a good workout in practice tomorrow. And stuff like the Delta One, AR and Machine are more ball than this!!! holy cow

Just got a chance to really throw my Machine yesterday at a local 5 gamer...WOW!

I started off with my Solution PP(#2) 6x5 pin over mid, usually works great on most med/med conditions.  1st game left 5 10's, a 4, and a stone 9 = 197 clean
Moving right each game, decided to try my Machine.  Proceeded to shoot 233, 235, 279 and 258..wow.  Very impressive...great length with unbelievable carrying power.  Ended up catching Ramtart (who was way ahead of me, sorry Ram) for last check in scratch with 1202 and 8th place in the cap division.  The Machine made this old man look like he could still bowl a little...lol

Hey guys, just to go off what Rick said yesterday.

It was nice to see Rick again after a good 3-4 months.
Don't let Rick's words fool you. He makes anything in his hands look good hehe.
The 5 Gamer had great hold in the middle with adequate oil and enough bump outside. Rick was pinging 10 pins in the first game and decided to switch to the Machine after the 2nd game (Pin next to ring and MB near thumb I believe).

Machine was polished and was very clean through the front and mids with nice recovery in the back.

I wasn't using a Track as my first ball (Track Magic for spares though BTW hehe), but I was using my Ebonite One (Pin under ring and MB in strong - Scuffed to 800 grit). I went 221-226-273-258-218 =1196. Rick was on my tail and edged me out by 6 pins in the scratch division hehe. Since his average is higher than mine, I edged him out with handicap, how lame! Haha. It was fun times and the so-called wall shot made me feel like I was actually good LOL.

Take care guys,
Ram

P.S. BTW, Track Blog sounds like a good idea. Just to let you know that I wasn't hijacking the thread haha.

HEy guys check this out. I recently had a machine and a robo rule and they both performed like garbage for me. Could it just be maybe the weight block isnt a good match up for my game. I throw alot more of tracks stuff and it does great. Could the wieght block make that much of a impact on ones game? Robo seemed it didnt hook enough for me and the machine went fairly str8. I was dissapointed in this. Both were drilled pretty similar pin below ring finger cg kick out weight hole near thumb.

Hey Rick,

You were telling the story about your Solution Power Plus Solid pinging 10 pins like crazy..that's rather funny and coincidental to me as well. I brought it out the other day to practice just to see what it would do and just as it did for you during your tourney, it was hitting very weak. I like my EX more because it gets more length and the backend snap is alot more powerful than the Solid. It could also be that I've been playin with the cover of the Solid alot more lately too since I rarely use it for league anymore! Anyways, just a thought! God Bless You All and have a great week!

--Michael--

P.S. 3 Days until the All-Star League Playoffs for me! I would appreciate your prayers and wishes of good luck! Thanks!

BLOWIN' STUFF UP WITH THE ARTILLERY!!!!!
Shot 826 with the Artillery in my Thursday Night Trio.
268,268,290.
It is Drilled 5 1/4 x 4, pin above the ring finger, with an extra hole on the axis, back to 1/2 pos. Ball is incredible. Cleans the front really well, and has an awesome backend motion. Go out and get you one of these for your Arsenal.

As for the Robo and Machine not matching up to you...I am also wondering off the bat exactly where the mass bias is and your PAP. Additionally, have you tried different surfaces....it could be a number of things or one of a couple that could be hindering you. Also, unfortunately, not every ball matches to everyone's game. I myself for a VERY long time could not match with asymmetrics..the only ones that ever gave me anything was the Nighthawk line and Angle Evolution line from Del when he was at AMF...

To top it off...resins do not fit well, and pearls fit worse! The way my ball rolls, pearls are VERY over under for me, and for the most part, I do tend to stay away from them as much as possible. Now, with me being on staff, I have tried more and experimented more as my cost was much less, but I am still trying to find a layout that is really good for me on pearl stuff.

Hey Guys,

Scratch League for the Summer started last night. Used Robo Rule # 2 - Pin Below for the whole night. Shot 674, two missed ten pins in the 2nd frame of the 1st game and 9th frame of the 3rd game more than likely cost me a 700 plus 1st place money in brackets! Overall, had a great night, this new Robo Rule is giving me a better look everytime I pull it out of the bag! It's also PLAYOFF nights as I stated in the other thread of mine...We are about an hour and a half away and I'm still a ball of nerves at this point and time! I'm bringing everything of my arsenal except the GP2, Machine, Delta 1, and Solution Solid...these four haven't given me the best look at the house I'm having the roll off in; however, the rest of 'em are coming with me just incase! Well, I hope for the best and here goes nothing! God Bless You all and have a wonderful week! BTW, where is everybody? I wanna read some more stories on here! LOL! Cya!

May 9-10, 2006:

Well guys, another one of my youth bowlers besides Dain looked at my Rule Delta 1 last night and the look on his face said to me he pretty much wanted it. So in that light, I sold him that one. However; I then took the opportunity to do some researching and being at the pro shop last night found that my buddy Nathan had one in stock! Now, I have had a third Rule Delta 1 punched up. Went with a simple Pin Below the Ring Finger layout. I don't have the current specs just yet; however, I will do all that research tonight and more than likely I will be putting out another video for it as well! I'll also post tonight after I bowl Scratch League as well! God Bless You All and have a great week!

After talking to Excaliber on the phone, I decided to pull out my Artillery and take it to league sweepers on my Tues Nite scratch league.  Had to work on the thumb cause I'm gaining weight..lol  Haven't thrown the ball for awhile, bowling pretty well with my Machine and Solution PP.

Get to league, throw 3 shadow balls with it. Proceeded to go front 8, 10 pin stopped me, ended up 267.  First time I've bowled this league, we move pairs for sweepers, pretty cool.  2nd game they were drier, got lined up and went 223.  Move to the last pair and they were tighter, watching my lead off, moved to it and went front 7 for another 267...WOW!  Ended up 757 and 787 w/cap, finished 2nd in sweepers, missed it by 5 pins, I was high man in scratch but the other guy had more cap.  Don't know why I've left it in the shop so long, it just carried the pins like there was no tomorrow, I didn't even throw some of the shots that well but the ball still carried.  It's definitely going back in the bag!  Now I know why Duck loves his so much, great ball!  Thanks for the ear.....

A pretty good night tonight thanks to the Rule. I've been helping out down at the centre and i've got our condition pretty much right for now(open up those outside 10 boards and the fun starts!!) Started off with the Aggressive for game one with a 190. Was just in the dirt going up 8 board and had to pitch it a hair faster than i would have liked. So 2nd game it was out with the Rule. Better length and bit of hold against the oil (where the the particle ball wanted to keep biting and moving) and 225 was the result. 3rd game, first 3, yank one high for a 4-9, 5 strikes, ring 10, strike for 245 was a good finish, tripped a couple 4 pins but i'll call that game 11 for 11 for pocket hits for 9 X's!! Stupid 4-9!!!!, 3/660 still a more than passable nights work. Oh and next week the Freak should be arriving too, might be an oldie but its new to me!!

Ended my 2005-2006 winter league on Monday nights with the RoboRule all 3 games. It was position round and we were in 10th place for the half, bowling against the same team as last week that flip-flopped positions with us. Felt good in warmups with a couple of different shots, based on what I've been seeing of the pattern lately I feel more comfortable playing inside the oil than trying to gun it off the gutter.

First game was a 236, 8 strikes, 3 single pins (all 7 pins, one missed). We lost game one by 66 pins, thanks to their anchor bowler throwing a 246 (190 average). Game two I was able to play a little deeper (moved 17-8 off the original 15-8 line) and managed to throw 10 strikes, 1 7 pin and 1 10 pin. A clearn 258 game, and once again we lost by 21 pins. The final game I didn't make the transitions early enough (needed to get the ball further out around the carrydown) and I shot a 203. My 697 was the high on the pair and we won 1 out of 5 points for the evening.

Overall considering everything that has happened over the season (adding to my family, my mom passing away) I was very happy to average 217.15 for the season. Thanks to Track for making such awesome equipment, I did super this season thanks to the RoboRule, Havoc, Slash, Animal and Solution Power Plus Ex I used off and on all season...

Hey Guys,

Summer leagues getting underway down here...and I'm starting off in a slump! First week was great as I pulled a 674 out. Last two weeks we have bowled scratch league have gone to complete crap! 589 and 609...average is at 208. Trying some new stuff and this person attempting to help me has got me all outta whack! Then says he wants me to do some tournaments...was suppose to go to Birmingham this weekend, but due to poor performance I don't really too much care to waste the money...not being confident in your ability pretty much sums up how the summer is going for me...stuff has been kind of a drag lately...fixing to take days off and see if it works! Also, I'm expecting my Crunch Time from Steve (Rev_o_lutions) sometime this week, possibly even today maybe...plus I've offered Ryan (Rock77) for his 5.0...the 5.0 is probably a mistake but I think I'm going to fool around with it and see if I can come up with some creative drilling for it! Well, I'm gone until next time! God Bless You All! I hope I'm not becoming a backslidden christian, I feel like I am though..hopefully this will end very soon! Thanks!

The start of my Thursday night sport shot league in Merrimack, NH began this evening. We have 14 trios teams that are from all parts of MA and NH- I travel an hour away to bowl this league as it's one of my highlights for the summer to really see where my game is at and what I need to work on. We usually bowl on 5 different patterns over the course of the summer, shortest being 30' and the longest being 50' with different volumes of oil that are sport compliant. We also rotate patterns in and out every week so you never see the same pattern two weeks in a row. Tonight we started with the 41' pattern, but it sure didn't play like it did last year. There was zero back end movement at the end of the pattern, and on Brunswick Anvilane that can mean a long night. I saw people leaving pocket 5-10's (right-handers) with 220 grit sanded The Ones. So my course of action was to take my RoboRule and play off the gutter, trying to keep the ball speed soft and direct the ball on an angle to the pocket. I didn't want to get into too much trouble on this pattern and didn't count on a ton of strikes, my mission was to keep the counts up and cover the spares.

I started the night with a 181, 4 strikes, 2 splits and all other spares covered. Didn't have a double until the 10th and 11th frames. Game two I started upping the ball speed when the carrydown hit and made many poor shots towards the end of the game. Another split and two 3-5 chops equals a 166 second game, my low game of the night. I changed my wrist position to more of a forward roll motion, lowered myself in the stance a little more and tried to get the ball on the lane earlier. Game three would be my highest of the night, including a 6 bagger at the end for a 224.

So I start the sport league with a 571 and have good hopes to keep my average above 190 for the summer season. Brought 5 Track balls with me to the league and will continue to do so- I'll keep you updated on the progress.

Well my summer leagues are underway.  I had to pre bowl for next week in both of my leagues because I am heading to Virginia next week for vacation.  I am bowling horrible.  I have got into such a slump in the last month that I it seems that no matter what I do it only gets worse.  I am currently bowling in 2 league one of which is a sport shot league. Right now as I sit I am carrying a 184 ave in one league and a 164 ave in the sport shot league. The other night i shot 258 for my first game.  I was pretty happy, however it all went down hill from there.  I didn't even manage to break 600. Anyways, hope thus far everyone is having a great summer. For those of you that are bowling this summer good luck.

Some more updates from Huntsville!

Recently purchased the X-Ception 5.0 (my 3rd one) and I actually like this one, third time was the charm on this one...however it wasn't third time was the charm on the Rule Delta 1. My favorite one was my first one, the other two I purchased just didn't seem to work quite as well...so I sold my second one to one of my youth bowlers that I coach, his name is Zach. He currently possesses the Crash and Rule Delta 1 therefore making him eligible to become member number 7 of Evolution! I went with Pin Below the Ring Finger on the third Delta and had minimal success with it. I just got to the point where I looked at Bradford and said, "$100 for it, pay me when you can!" Just like that it was his...about a month ago I sold my Artillery to my friend Chris to replace his "Fired-Up!". I sold my first Robo Rule to the "Beast" Dain Stewart and he's been red hot as of late shooting 2 more 600 + series since purchasing the ball! I sold my Solution Power Plus to the "Gin" Willie Turner as soon as the Crunch Time arrived! So now I'm carrying the new Robo Rule, Machine,
X-Ception 5.0, Crunch Time and Desert Heat with me to league. It is a well rounded 5 ball arsenal in my opinion. First two sets in league with the 5.0 have been 718 and 693! I feel like the slump is over with and anything is possible! Anyways, that's an update from Huntsville! God Bless You All and have a great weekend!

HEY FASTTRACKERS,

Well, thank God I'm still riding high after league tonight. Started off using the X-Ception 5.0 for the first two games, missed a 10 pin in the 10th frame of the 1st game for 234. It could've been at least 245 if I wouldn't have missed! Second game, I'm a 280 pace until the 6th frame comes along and I got the ball out in the dry way too early and left the 3-4-6-7-10. With a slight chuckle I looked at my teammates and said, "watch this!" and actually converted it which was pretty sweet! However, the next frame the ball catches some carrydown and I leave the 2-8-10 and convert just the 2-8. Find the pocket in the 10th but leave a single pin and convert. For my fill shot I switch to the Robo Rule and absolutely crush the pocket and decide to go with the Robo Rule for the third game. So with 234 and 211 under my belt I use the Robo Rule the entire 3rd game and this ball just eats through the carrydown (we had some beginner bowlers on the opposite team throwing Maxims and White Dots). I end up striking out with the last 5 for 236 and shoot 681 for the night. Dropped my average to a 233!

I also got to give mad props to Michael Bradford who is better known on here as "The Original Chewmiester". Michael started the league off last week with a 487 and after selling him the Rule Delta 1, he turned it up quite a few notches and showed off with a 650 series! I'll let him talk more about it but that was just some of the most incredible bowling I've seen Bradford pull off in a long time, I'm very proud of him! Well, until next time God Bless You All and have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Haven't posted on here for a while but just couldn't resist.

I have been bowlwing in a sport league for 5 weeks now and I haven't been very pleased with my performance even though it hasn't been that bad.

Well after bowling in my THS league tonight it made me realize why I like to bowl on a sport shot. My THS performance is going up in leaps and bounds due to the sport shot league IMHO. In the 4 weeks of the THS league I have shot 596, 610, 635 and 676 with high games of 258, 255 & 248. I finished the fall season with a 191 and after a month I am averaging 209.75 on the same shot. The biggest difference I am seeing though is my spare game in the last 2 weeks I have been clean other than  a 4 pin where I stuck at the line. I think I only had 1 clean set the entire season. I have also only had 1 game under my last season finishing average which was in week 1 with a 175 and that was due to me being to stubborn to put my Machine away and grab my Rule.

I have to give some credit to my Machine and Rule though, these 2 are just a perfect 1-2 punch for me on this pattern and both are extremely consistent.

I know some don't consider these to be great numbers but I am pleased none the less.

Great to hear about all the success stories with Track. A minor success to report here regarding the Lilac Tournament in Rochester, NY. The tournament consists of a team event held in one house (Gates Bowl, 48 lane synthetic center) and a doubles/singles event (Olympic Bowl, 80 lane wood center). The shot was an ego humbling experience for 90% of the bowlers, a little bit tougher than the nationals shot for most. The doubles/singles house was a 15-10 shot with slow speed, precise release and timing necessary to carry the corners. Errant shots outside of target, washouts or sometimes gutter balls- inside of target, crossover city. The teams house was a 20-15 shot, outside 12 boards were flood city. Similar timing/release issues necessary at this house. I used my RoboRule, Animal and Havoc for 2 doubles/singles sets and then the RoboRule and Solution Power Plus Ex at the 2 team events. I averaged 200 for 18 games, including a clean 638 set (194-244-200) at Gates Bowl on Saturday afternoon with the Solution Power Plus Ex. Out of the 10 guys that went with me on this trip, I was the high average out of them all. I feel like the equipment I had on me worked to my benefit on a challenging tournament condition.

maybe this belongs here instead.....
Last wednesday night i used this AA http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/whobettathaneric/detail?.dir=31ca&.dnm=a65bre2.jpg&.src=ph in a house i've had trouble at all year, the last game had the front 9 and threw a horrible shot ended up with 738 for the night, while our team did very well shooting 1090, 1170, and 1220 putting us in position to need to win 19 out of 27 pts the next week to win the league. Thursday was nothing special, shot 640 on the end pair which always has one lane about 10 boards different than the other using the crunch time on one lane and the weaker solution pp on the other. Saturday was a mixed trio tournament, I bowled with a buddy of mine who used a thrash the entire 7 game set, and ms. customer service dawn, who used a 5.0 all 7 games. I used this heat http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/whobettathaneric/detail?.dir=31ca&.dnm=e86c.jpg&.src=ph and this solution ex http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/whobettathaneric/detail?.dir=31ca&.dnm=a7b0.jpg&.src=ph to ave. 246 (w/a 180 the 3rd game!) had the front 10 in that tourney which was good for some $ in side pots, as were some team games we bowled. We led qualifing, and won the final game in the step ladder. (Great bowling guys) Fast forward to the next time i pick up a ball, wed for league, as i said, needing 19 out of 27 to win the league. I shoot 300 w/the same solution ex the last game after a ball change for 708 and we win 21 for the night. Last night during league, we bowled on a fresh shot for the first time all year, we bowl a late league on thursdays here at the center where my shop is, and its 2nd shift, the early league finished last week, so we had our shot on the fresh. Using this solution pp shot 300 the 2nd game after a ball change and ended up with 774.
Wanted to thank the teams i was on for their great bowling year, and all day respectively, to Dawn for taking care of me when i call to buy and pick up equipment, to Del for giving me the chance to represent track as a member of his staff, and to the entire track family for producing such great products!

For anyone that doesn't feel like reading all of that...300 on wed, 300 on thrus, 2 different houses.

Eric,

Great story buddy! That is what this 'blog' is all about!

Now onto my story for the day. Bradford and I bowled in our mixed league last night and boy were the lanes tricky. Of course we had some problems with Lane 1 most of the set which could have threw me off some; however I still managed a 651 series but still dropped my average to 227 (it just keeps lowering and lowering back to normal I guess! HA!) First game started off using the 5.0 and was hitting the pocket but couldn't carry. Two devastating splits in the 3rd and 6th frames and I was trying my best to strike out for 206, got the first one in the 10th but failed the next one with the Stone 9 keeping me from it, convert for a 195 (first game below deuce I've shot in this summer league). Second game decided to make the switch to the Robo Rule because I couldn't get the 5.0 to finish good and it turned out to be a good decision. I missed a 9 pin cuz of tugging it but bounced back with a 244 for good measure. The team we were facing used more reactives and particles so the shot went away quicker than last week when we had 'beginner' bowlers using Maxims and White Dots so the transistion was quick too. I stayed with the Robo the rest of a night and put together a 211 for the 3rd game. Bradford held the team up the first game but the next two he was pretty much swimming after that. I made some suggestions to him, even suggesting the Magic cuz the shot had dried up so much; however, it turned into a numbers game, though he did get good practice in on spare shots! I'm still pleased with a 651 and will attempt to turn it up a few notches this Wednesday night during Scratch league. Well, that's all from Huntsville, Alabama! God Bless You and have a great week!

HEY FASTTRACKERS!

This is Michael back with another update from Huntsville! The Flaming T Spare Ball is here and it is in the arsenal! I'm going to try to convert back to plastic for my 10 pin spare shots. Gave it some practice yesterday after coaching my youth bowlers. The ball received aweing like feedback! I had a bunch of them really wanting this ball! I left the 10 pin a few times which is what I wanted just to see if I was going to be able to make this ball work for me. In the past, plastics have been my enemy due to inaccurate attempts throwing at the 10. However, yesterday was a good practice session. I bowl league tonight and it is coming with me.

Scratch league was what I would like to call bittersweet. Got into 2 brackets and shot 245 my first game. The X-Ception 5.0 has been my alma mater since I had it punched up these last few weeks and it hasn't let me down. I started off playing direct on the fresh but the second game was very troublesome to put it bluntly. 3 splits and a consistently pulling the ball and I finished shooting 177. So I'm pretty much done with brackets (I was also knocked out of one the first game even with 245, the guy I was facing shot 266! ). I calmed myself down and made a decision to move in deeper standing on 26 and playing 16 out to about 9 with firm speed. I couldn't miss the pocket and started off with a ringing 10 and spared. I put a 4 bagger up then left a split and opened. Then I went off the sheet for 256 using the X-Ception 5.0. Sometimes the lanes dictated to me that I should be using the Robo; however, this night was different and I just made a simple adjustment. Ended up with a 678 series and raised my average in the league to 219! Once again it is Sunday and I'm bowling my fun league and I'm going to try something different. I'm bringing my Arsenal Reactive with me in place of the Machine just to see what kind of look I get with it. I will post an update soon! God Bless You All and have a great week!

HEY FASTTRACKERS!

I bowled last night and all I can say is EN FUEGO! I really don't know what else to say because this has been quite simply put the best bowling I have really done in a very long time! I tested out the Arsenal Reactive and X-Ception 5.0 during practice and decided the 5.0 was the best choice.

Started the night off with a strike, then a split, stone 9, then 5 in a row, 4 pin spare, struck out in the 10th for a 235. Second game I left 2 4 pins in frames 4 and 9 while I struck in the rest for 258. Third game I start off with the first 8, then left a 10 pin and spared then left another 10 pin in the tenth frame and opened for 257. I finished the set with a 750 using the X-Ception 5.0 all night. This ball has been a complete Pin Smashing Lane Burning piece of equipment!

Last 7 Series I've Shot: 718, 693, 681, 702, 651, 678, 750

I'm just in awe of what numbers I've put together. I'm averaging 233 on Sunday nights and I'm averaging 219 on Wednesday nights. I'm just going to continue to ride this for as long as it shall take me! All thanks be to God for this as I could NOT have done it without Him in my life! Well, thats another update from Huntsville! God Bless You All and have a great week!

Went and re drilled the Phenom Today for a diffeent look seeing i've got the A.A for a power particle now. Did a good old fashioned label drill(just like my nib WOW pearl) and after spending 10mins looking for a pair that had head oil i went to work. Even got the result i was looking for too!! The ball is a little earlier now but smoother off the break than when it was drilled pin under bridge/flip MB. Not as sharp as the shiny WOW,at least i know theres no overlap there!! Arsenal Reactive should be here in about a week and a 1/2, ooooooboy!!!!

As I said before I haven't been pleased with my performance on the Sport shot that they have been putting down so I decided to practice a bit tonight.
I took everything that I thought I could get to work and also used my Robo and Machine for comparison purposes.
My Robo has been a bit to early and a bit too smooth for my liking and my Machine has been a bit to long except for in the 3rd game. I figured that either my Phenom Unleashed or Delta 1 might be just right on the fresh. The Delta surprised me in that the look was almost identical to the Robo mainly due to the OOB surface vs the Robo's OOB so I decided that wasn't going to be a logical change and I will probably alter the surface of it and get it to where it is similar to my Machine only slightly longer. The Unleashed on the other hand was great. I haven't used it in quite some time and forgot just how much of a beast it is at the break point when used on a condition that it matches up well with. I have it @ 1000+ a light polish just enough to remove the dull but not alter the underlying suface much. With the drilling that I have on it (see profile) it gets a lot of length and then makes a very angular move to the pocket. I do have to keep my speed up a touch or it gets too angular. After revisiting it I wish I would have bought 1 or 2 more to stash away when they were still available but I didn't so I am thinking of getting another Robo and drilling it the same as it is or maybe another Machine and drilling it the same and then dulling it down a bit.
I would give anything to have a remake of it.
I think the thing that I was most impressed with about it was how quickly it reacted even though it has a ton of games on it, I have kept a very intensive maintenance regimen with it though as I do all my equipment.

On a side note:
Nothing against MoRich cause I think they make great equipment but every time I see an add for the Seek & Destroy saying something about they said a partical ball couldn't be angular so we made one I have to chuckle a bit cause the PU is very angular and it is partical.

I have been in a slump for a while now.  I actually dropped my average 11 pins in my summer in one of my summer leagues.  Great deal of this have been becuase I am in pain while I am bowling.  I pulled a muscle in my forearm and I am currently on a leave of absence from the game.  It will only be a short one though (1-2 weeks tops).  I have also been having some issue with my ring finger and my thumb.  Ring finger has been killing me. It is sore all the time and my thumb goes all tingley and numb everytime I bowl with it.  Couple about a month ago I bought and old Trition TKO and a Sensor Xcel off of ebay. I plan on experimenting with both of these balls.  Plan on drilling both with the Sarge Easter Grip (worked for BrunsNick when he was having issues with his ring finger).  I am also going to be drilling the TKO with the RICO1 drilling.  Hopefully this will take the pressure off my finger.  If so I will be redrilling all my equipment with a new grip.  Anyways hope everyone summer is going well.

The question isn't why do I throw all Track, it's why don't you.
