If anyone has a subscription, let us know how they rate it.
I let mine expire a few months ago.

I am curious as to how they rate it.

Charlest, I see where you are coming from. Tell you what. Lets all come up with our own dry lane ball based on what Track has available for coverstocks and cores. What would you guys like to see??

I'd like to see 2 balls:
1. The Hex cover on the original Track Magic's core
2. The VooDoo's cover on either the Magic's core or a core like the Tornado or the Power Groove (high RG with some flare).

I think such a ball could be good for medium-light to dry (NOT burnt heads) lanes. All other things being equal, I wish they'd re-issue the Pearl Stomp!

charlest,

Paranoia will destroy ya. No, I was not talking about your post..

well, since you didn't reference anything, I can only assume you meant the previous post which was mine. But, I did add the "IF", with an apology, if required.

I am not paranoid; they are all out to get lil' ole moi!

Hardly ever.

Trying to see the other side of the coin, maybe economic pressures have struck them, as it does most of us sooner or later. Yesterday I had to put out money for a new condensor/compressor for the whole house A/C system. After they told me the price, you could have picked me up off the floor by blotting up my remains with a paper towel. What used to be about a month's salary, AFTER taxes!

Isn't the core for this ball designed by Mo Pinela (sp)?

Duda and Booboo, I couldnt have said it all any better myself. You are partially right in saying that all ball companies make good equipment. I feel there are a couple that arent really all that good, but I will leave those names out. You are also right in saying that with most "house bowlers" who average high 200+, cant bowl to save their lives on other patterns or in other houses. Its all about learning to adjust and playing different lines and making the right adjustments at the right time. True, Walter Ray and maybe a few other PBA pro's could grab a plastic and avg. 200 or better, ANYWHERE!!

Charlest, nice choices for a dry lane ball. I especially like the Hex cover and magic core. The Voodoo cover and a high rg with flare core sounds nice too. Personally, I like the Threat Cover and a high rg with flare core similar to the Power Groove.

How am I supposed to knock all 10 down with one ball?!?

To the topic at hand:
COPYRIGHT JULY 2003 BOWLING THIS MONTH (just so I don't get sued)
They rate it 9/9/8 ----  8/8.5/9 ------ 3/4/4
for oil/medium/dry for stroker/tweener/cranker

RG- 4.0
Diff - 7.5
torque - 6.0
length - 10   (long for an oiler)
backend - 14.5  (high for an oiler)
total hook - 52

Random text:
"a little more length than the ... Mutant; it is sufficient enough for this ball to have "Phenom"enal power at the pins."
"superior continuation at the backend."
"midlane hook of the Mutant combined with the back end of the Freak"

I think the "cheap" comment was aimed towards me. Well, think what you want, but I have purchased enough stuff from people on this site alone to show I am not.

I let my subscription run out because I just have not cared for the magazine as much since Bob (Summerville) passed away.

Cheap are the guys that complain about paying an extra nickle for coffee. I am far from that, and would appreciate if you didn't assume things as such. I simply wanted to know what the magazine had to say about the ball.

I guess if you have to ask someone's opinion on something you are cheap for not running our and buying it for yourself.
