Title: Threat drilling

Just got a new theat and was wondering what types of drillings are working pretty good for this ball(particle pearl). I'm not to sure of my specs but I know that my ball tracks pretty high (close to the thumb and finger holes) ball specs 2-3 inch pin 2 3/4 top weight the house that I bowl puts out a different pattern on a weekly basis so I need that ball to be pretty versitle, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

awesome specs...

i would suggest putting the pin above the ring finger, kick the cg out...in other words, 4 1/2x 4"(45 degrees).....others will tell you about weight hole placements

I have the same specs on my Threat and I track high as well.  This drilling works wonders for me.

I will echo Mr. Track's comment ...... swing the cg out
and put the mass bias below and out toward your
positive axis ..... this move will help smooth out the
reaction and not skid/snap .......

I would modify it a little i have mine drilled pin over bridge and cg stacked underneath and is a great and versitle drilin it will only do what u want it to.

This may be a particle pearl......but the Threat reacts like a reactive.

Before I could suggest a layout I would need to atleast know what kind of reaction you want on the lanes. I understand that they shot is changing every week, but what kind of reaction do you want out of the ball?

My original Heat with a 10.30 drill is awesome, these sort of drills really work well with the original Triton core. It really compliments it's revvy midlane/arc backend move.

Most of the patterns suggested will produce as Adrian stated, a nice mellow arcing backend reaction.  I would still recommend posting what Excaliber's asking for, what reaction are YOU looking for?  Then it'll be easier for others to help in choosing the proper layout, thanks.

I was looking for a strong arc drilling I currently have a purple fuze with the pin over middle finger and cg swung out 2 inches from center of grip and I want to drill the threat with the same reaction but pick up earlier.

Hey Slick,

Based on what you just mentioned, the same layout should work fine.  The Purple Fuze by nature is a little bit of a skid/flip reacting ball.  So the Threat being lite particle, will naturally want to roll sooner and this pattern will assist in that ball reaction also.  I had mine drilled similar and it did exactly that, it still cleared the heads well and had a very smooth continuous arcing motion in the back.  Hope this helps..and good luck with your new Track ball!!  (Mr Track gets the cigar, he said it 1st)
