Tired of rumors? HERE IS YOUR TRACK LEGION Q&A section!
« on: July 09, 2007, 07:02:47 AM »
Guys/Gals I know you have heard many statements about the new Track Equipment. I have read ALOT of them throughout this entire website. If you have specific Questions please post them here. Myself or Rick will answer your questions as best we can. Both of us have had alot of exposure to the new equipment and what they do on the lanes......for every style of bowler. We will be able to answer any question you have.

Thanks,
Carl

Might have already been answered but... What is going to happen to all the other Track equipment? Like the Machine line and all the others? Will they continue to make them or did they just throw everything out the window? Thanks

- Is there going to be anything to fit the dryer end of the spectrum?
- gp2 (for some original rules) replacement? What is going to come close to that monster? if the answer is get a ebonite/hammer thats fine, just which one?
- Are all the track drill sheets going to be 360' like the ebonite ones?

How many balls will Track make a year? I keep hearing that Track will not be on tour this year from a lot of people. I also heard that Track will only get 3 balls a year. If that is true, how will people be able to make a ball arsenal around 3 balls.

I used to use track stuff many years ago but moved on to other stuff.now I find myself buying up track stuff again after EBO bought them,go figure.Sixcranker turned me on to an Inertia and I've picked up a few others since then.
but anyway here's my question.will we see anymore particle covers?one of the things I hated about Ebo/Hammer was that they droped all the particle covers and even though they have covers that soak up the oil it's not the same as a good particle ball.

The Machine line was finished when the San Antonio Plant ran its last C300 ball. The R&D team at Ebonite has some very good things in store for us.

I do not think that Track is going to venture into the dry lane area. Ebonite and Columbia Equipment both cover that very well with the Tornados and Scouts respectively.****  The strength that the Rising has is going to SHOCK a lot of people. Word at the Product Showcase from the bowlers coming down the line was that the Rising was the strongest ball there.....and we had one of the weaker layouts on the demo balls. I would not call it the "monster" that the GP2 was, because the GP2 rolled so early.....the Rising will roll early yet it will retain more energy down the lane than the GP2 did.****Not all of the drill sheets are going to be 360*, just the Rising. The ability to drill the Rising in this manner is what makes it so unique. The heavy core and the strong MB make one dangerous combination for the pins to have to face.

Track plans on having 6 releases before the end of the season. They will be on tour, the only PBA exempt bowler on staff is Mitch Beasely. You will see Track on television, it is going to be determined week to week if anyone throws it on TV or not. The equipment that Track has coming out is extremely strong...yet extremely versatile. The Rising for example is a very strong piece of equipment....but due to 360* layout process you can tame the ball down significantly. The Kenetic is extremely skid/flip, alter the surface though and you can have a ball that will rev up rather early. I firmly believe that a person could have a 6 balls arsenal with 5 Risings and a Kenetic. I know 5 of one ball is a bit of overkill, but the Rising is that versatile and it is that good. If someone wanted a Track arsenal it is very possible even with 3 releases.

I understand the concern about particle covers. Ebonite's R&D team feel that they can get a particle type reaction out of their coverstocks. Folks, these covers are extremely versatile and they are the best coverstocks on the market today. As for plans of particle, I am unsure. I would not rule anything out at this point. The future is wide open for Track, and it is going to be an awesome ride.

GREAT questions so far folks, keep them coming!

To add to my Tag Team partner's comments,

Track HAS been and WILL continue on the forefront in technology and high performance equipment.  We were never known for how good our "dry" lane equipment was but rather the strength in equipment we could provide to the public.  This is where Ron H and Randy T shine!  You folks wouldn't even believe me if I told you how many veneers (thanks to Randy T) we have at Ebonite and how far advanced Ron H is in core design and what he has planned for the future of Track.

Our goal is to bring to you guys the best possible reactions that work on today's conditions to help give all of you Track fans the advantage that you deserve.

Carl and I not only being under Tech Support will also have quite a bit of input as to what our future Track pieces should look like.  Please feel free to tell us what "YOU" want and we'll do what we can to provide the BEST of the BEST to you!!  Thank you for being a loyal Legion member....

I remember someone saying that the Kinetic was only going to be made in 15lbs. Is this true? If so, why?

Not true at all Reick...all those who know me know that I can't and "don't" throw anything heavier than 14lbs....too old

Mine is 14lb buddy and there were a few more that I was trying to take until Fig *whacks me on the back of the head*...(oops, sorry boss)...but I can still out score my Tag Team partner....lol

All weights as listed.....pls lets stop the rumors. If anyone has any questions, just ask Carl or myself and we'll give you the real low down....thank you.

Hey Carl, guess we should photocopy/scan our "business" cards that we now have with Track to help stop any incorrect rumors?  I'll do mine...coming very soon ladies and gents.

scotts,

This had nothing to do with Visionary. This topic was started due to all of the speculation surrounding Track Equipment. Every seems to have heard something differet. Rick and I just want to set it straight.

I was talking with my coach today and he mentioned the problem I may be having with transition on the sport shot is due to my equipment having too much flare.  I did confirm that the flare rings were quite wide on the Black Widow Monday.  Anyhow, long story short, he said we may need to look at some equipment strickly for the sport shot.  He was saying more agressive equipment with low flare.  What, if anything in or coming from the Track line would be possibles?

I will also be attending an Ebonite Demo Days August 18th to check out what they have to show and try.  Thanks for any input!

I've been looking, but I haven't seen pics of the cores for the new balls? Are they available, or is ebo being secretive about them as well?
