Hey everyone. I was just able to drill this ball this past weekend. Got to throw it in a Sasba member/guest tournament. I threw it for all 8 games. Layout was pin above the middle finger no hole. This puts the pin at 5 inches off axis for me. The first time throwing it was in practice. The house has wood lanes that have recently had a complete resurface. Generally the house plays pretty tight then gets a lot of friction. Well with the resurface and new oil machine the lanes start off with a lot of friction. What i saw out of the ball was pretty exciting for me. Generally for EBI products for me I can get a ball that easily skids through the front part of the lane, but misses the spot or gets inconsistent. For example the ball gets through the front but never makes the turn or it makes the turn once and misses the other. For some reason with this new cover the ball got through the front much easier but you can actually see the ball transition and make the turn. So far it never missed the spot unless I flat out missed it at the bottom. I really think this reaction is something EBI has missed the boat on the past 2-3 years while Storm has been having this reaction for a while. If you haven't thrown a Track ball in a while please give this one a shot. The new covers we have are really matching up well. The 910A and 400ase have given me a reason to start throwing Track a lot more. I did a comparison with these two and the 910 is about an arrow or 2 stronger. It gave me the same reaction, but the bigger core allowed the ball to start up more. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

How you tolerated that junk reaction for 2-3 years is mind boggling. Instead of using a Storm ball, you stood pat with EBI balls you knew didn't work, imagine all the pins you've thrown away.

Seriously Northface? It wasn't a junk reaction. I said it was a reaction we have been missing. What's funny is I am not even on staff. I am just stating my opinion about a ball reaction. Yes Storm has generally had the upperhand in the skid flip category. I am saying EBI has gotten it correct in the new 400ase. It's funny if I write a ball review as a staffer I am bias. If I write a review that is honest I shouldn't be throwing the garbage. You sir are dumb. But thanks for the reply any way. Good luck in your bowling ventures.

I'm dumb? Why don't you learn how to use a comma. Anywho, any ball "that misses the spot" or "reacts inconsistently" is a junk reaction. Period. Unless, of course, you prefer a look that doesn't "turn over" on the backend. Sounds like you've got sand in your poon.

kinda confused...doesn't track make the 400ase? can someone explain what ebi has to do with the ball? thanks

He is referring to the 400A special edition. 400ase is a abbreviation.

Track falls under EBI (Ebonite International). Track, Columbia, Ebonite, and Hammer all fall under EBI and come out of the Hopkinsville, KY plant.

Northface,
Why do you think Storms reactions are better than EBIs? I just did some research on something and I think I have a pretty good idea. Want to see if what you think matches what I see.

I guess when making an honest review I get called out for it. Fact is oil patterns are breaking down much much faster these days. All I said was some balls that were made under EBI failed to make the corner. Some made the corner. I feel that the 400ase so far from Track has the signature skid flip look. It doesn't miss the friction down lane. If you are looking for a ball for medium to medium dry that creates angle down kane, then give this ball a shot. You won't be disappointed.

It bugs me Curt when someone spouts off negativity without doing their research first. I have been guilty of that myself and learned from it. I saw the 400 in action this weekend at a demo and was very impressed with what I saw. It is definitely everything you described.
I still want to hear why Storm's ball reactions are more superior than EBIs though. :)

Was not aware the 400A would be a demo ball. I heard only High Performance and Upper Mid would be at demo's. ????

Demo days and equipment is up to the shop putting on the demo
generally, you will have the bigger hookers there.
I really wanted tot throw the low flare at a demo days, but the shop either didnt have any yet or didnt want to offer them
