Track Rule Delta 1 - Anyone Polish It?
« on: December 14, 2005, 03:56:09 AM »
Ok, going off WSUstroker's post about maintaining it's box condition in another post, I'm thinking of going the other way with it as an experiment.

Has anyone used any type of polish on this ball?
If so, which one? (Magic Shine, Storm ReactaShine, etc.)
Before you hit it with polish, did you hit it with sandpaper or a Scotch-Brite or an Abralon pad? If so, what type of grit? (4000, 2000, 1000, 800, etc.)

Curious to know what type of results you got out of yours after polishing.

Thanks!

I tried 400-grit then A LOT of Clean N' Polish.  The ball skated too far for me and the reaction was pretty close to my Xception 5.0 (drilled the same) with Clean N' Smooth.  I've also tried 2000-grit wetsand then A LOT of CLean N' Polish (until the ball looked like a marble).  The ball was excellent on a broken down shot.  The reaction was similar to my Xception although not quite as jerky off the breakpoint.  I've also tried Clean N' Smooth with A LOT of pressure which gave it a decent shine.  The ball had more backend but was a little too squirty on some conditions for my liking.  I need to get another bottle of Magic Shine, heheh!

I've also tried 400-grit wetsand as well as a burgundy pad scuff; both surfaces were too much and the ball lost too much energy up front.  I really like 1000-grit or 800-grit wetsand.  It gives me excellent midlane while still giving me A LOT of backend.

I have two Delta 1's.  One of them I have polished with magic shine.  The other one is at 800 grit.  Big difference between the two.  The 800 grit is great for heavy oil.  The magic shine one is great for med oil.  Magic shine will straighten the ball out by a good arrow or more.

I hit my second one with Delayed Reaction....ball went straight for 50', then turned left.....great for getting through the heads with ease!
