Just got my arsenal reactive
« on: September 29, 2005, 03:36:03 PM »
Just got this bad boy today.

15 Pounds 4 oz, Top Weight of 2.5 and Pin 3.  Still not really sure how to drill it up.  I track pretty high my pap is 5 1/2 over and 1 up and hearing most of the drills with this baby are pin under bridge, but I am afraid im going to clip the holes.  Not really sure how to drill it.

I am 5 1/2 over 1 inch up and use mainly pin under drillings on most of my stuff, if you keep the pin in the safe zone you will be good to go.

Hey bud I drilled mine like this: pin above ring but real close to the bridge(5" from pap)  cg kicked right to about 1oz and no x-hole.

Most bowlers drill a ball based on what it's intended for.  The reactive has a low rg which causes it to get into it's roll early.  So bowlers drill it with the pin below to maximize this.

I took a different approach with mine.  I drilled it with a length backend layout.  With the amount of revs I put on a ball I didn't want it to break too early.  I also figured I could get the ball to save more energy and really wheel on the backend with a length drill.  Well bud for me this layout works great.  The break point is very strong with this layout.  Don't be afraid to go against the grain when it comes to drilling a ball.  Don't worrie this ball will be plenty strong even with a length layout.

Chi...great points. I thought the going fingers over the bridge for you on a High RG Arsenal Reactive would definitely help you get the ball to "push" a little further down lane before making its' move.

hotshot187, my PAP is 5 1/2> 5/8^. So we're pretty close. I have a Slash that is drilled with Pin directly under my bridge with the pin kicked right on my midline. It's not a high flaring ball, so I track right over the edge of the thumb if I stay right behind the ball. I barely clip the thumb, so I'm thinking you should be ok. My Delta is drilled Pin under bridge too, but with it being a Strong Asymmetrical Reactive ball, the track migrates and flares a bunch away from the thumb (At minimum 1" away from thumb) Hope this helps and wait for some of the other staffers and bowlers here to chime in!

I threw a buddys tonight after the league was over! I am super impressed with it!!! I must get my hands on one!!!! I found it to be very forgiving and also more versatile than I expected!!! I usually hate throwing inside but, this ball just responded with ease! If I missed and threw it out it would recover like a champion and hit and carry like one too!!!! All I can say is WOW!!!!

Hey, it might be slop but, it all looks the same on the scorecard!!!!!

Slop your right; throwing this ball thru the break point is almost impossible even with fast ball speed like mine.

The arsenal reactive gets ball of the year vote from me.  Track hit a home run with this ball.  I like this as much if not more than my animal and that's saying a lot.  Most of you know how much I love my animals.

No doubt Chitown, from all the balls I have threw ever, I think this ball is the king!!!!!!! Ball of the year? It depends what else track comes out with LOL!!!!! As of right now it should have the ball of the year on lockdown! I have heard some folks compare this to a Big B AI. I "currently" have an AI and it will be replaced with the Arsenal Reactive!!! I find the AR just as versatile but alot more forgiving than the AI and it has the hammer the pins and carry the pins that I belive Tracks usually always have!! I tell you what, my AI dosent have it!!!! I will get my grubby mits on one!!!!!

Hotshot,

I have to say, I have been most impressed with the Arsenal Reactive...I tend to become confident with reactives than particles. They provide alot more consistent reactions, whereas particles burn out for me too quick. My PAP is almost close to yours...I drilled mine with a 4 1/2" Pin below the Ring finger, no weight hole needed. Had a heavier top weight than you do though. But the layout gave me a good reaction. Let us know how it works for you buddy!
