Alright Legion...

How many of you are going to the Hoinke?

If you've already been to Cincy, feel free to share your experience.

I will be heading West shortly and can't wait!

Not part of the Track Legion but recently we shot 3412 in team but got rerated to 3390 i think is the number.

Not bad but they are tuff and be ready to play direct.

I would love to come over and bowl with you guys but I don't think PBA members are allowed to bowl. If you get lost in Indy, let me know!

You can come bowl some heavy wood. I also think the rule is one person per team can have a pba card. So drive over. LOL

I really like to hear the words "play direct".
We'll have to see what we've got when we get there.  I've got a Rising at 1000 that I'll be taking along in the event they put some really heavy stuff down.  I don't think I'll need it, but I figured I'd go prepared.

The way to play it is a little straighter. However you dont want to use something real dull. The best look I had was with a rising at box but you had to keep the ball a little straighter.

Well, I've returned from The Hoinke and have to say I had a great time.

I bowled all events twice while in town.  Conditions varied throughout the week.  Even when the conditions were at their worst, I still found a way to get the ball to the hole.  The best way for me to sum up the fresh shot would be a heavier THS with a pinch of OB way outside.  I honestly expected conditions to be a bit tougher and rumours around Western Bowl say they will get tighter heading into June.

The best look I had on the fresh shot was with a Temper playing just outside 10.  I was hooked up with 9 other guys who like to play off the point and things did tend to get a bit sloppy.  Carrydown was pretty rough.  Once the transition hit, I pulled out my Rising at 1000, moved inside a bit to solve the problem.  I did manage some good games with the Rising this week.  My high game of the week, 288 came with the Rising.  This was good for a high game pot.  I was fortunate enough to win both singles HGP's for the two squads that I bowled.

All in all it was a good trip.  If you're going out to Cincy soon, I don't think you'll need too much scratch in the bag.  If you're going out later...more surface could be what you need.  It depends if what they say is true about things getting tight toward June.

Ball selections for the week were as follows:
Equation (pin below right, cg bumped slightly right)
Temper (4 x 3 w/ surface at 4000 abralon - no polish)
Kinetic (5 x 5 w/ pin in mid)
Rising (#1 layout w/ surface at 1000 abralon)
Animal Untamed (Leong-Hall layout w/ surface at 4K & a hard shine...ball didn't come out of the bag)

Good luck to all heading to Cincy.  Calvin...hope you finished out strong!
