Triple Threat
« on: August 26, 2003, 05:07:05 PM »
The track major domos were in yesterday and drilling up a bunch of stuff for our local track lovers!  Many!

Got to really see the threat from a buddy of mine with a little more hand than me.  I've got some he's got a fistful!

He has been tearing it up with the threat, smooth strong and hard moving.
Drilled about 5 by 4 1/2 pin over ring finger!  I'll go stronger!

Saw him throw Triple threat.  Surprising.  I thought same core the shape would be similar but earlier.  (Unfortunately did not see drilling).  Not really.

Ball started the same seemed to bite pretty hard in midlane and slow down significantly and then turn hard and very angular to pocket and then roll! straight.

It just looked like this ball had a lot less speed at 35 to 40 feet resulting in the core applying a much harder initial move to the ball.

Interested to see final setup on this ball, I'm guessing polish will be added!
I also want to check drilling.

Core is the same on these two balls, but supposedly the TT's cover is much different and at least a notch stronger than the Threat's coverstock.

I think the Track Triple Threat may be one of the few legitimate "threats" to the reign of the Inferno and the original X-Factor. However, Track being so small and their ad budget being smaller yet, I have seen no Triple Threats in my neck of the woods ... yet.

Around here if you don't have an Inferno or an X-Factor, don't expect to compete. (No, I can't believe I said that either, but I know what I am seeing.) No other ball comes close lately. I haven't seen this situation since the original freaking Danger Zone.

Question: Is the Triple Threat stronger than the Freak Out? I love the Freak Out for the smooth power but sometimes you need a little more backend and punch at the pins. When I need more backend I use the Mutant but it can loose its punch fast if the lanes don't have enough oil. Thanks for your opinions.

I think by my eye freak out is a nothch up.

Triple threat is earlier but not quite as much backend.
