triple threat-why no use?
« on: December 07, 2003, 07:31:08 PM »
I have a triple threat and love the ball.

the surface have be altered very easily

scuffed to 1200-its the biggest ball in my bag

shined to 3000-it goes staight

so it can defintely vary in between

i have drilled a crunch, threat, freak out, phenom, mutant and this is the best/most versatile of the bunch IMHO

BUT

it doesnt get much usage from others-hardly any sales, seems to be a bust

WHY?

what are you opinions on the ball

--------------------
Dont swing it-if you cant bring it

When in doubt-swing it out

I'm considering one of these... how does it react in comparison to the higher-priced Track balls (Phenom, Mutant, etc)?

i believe smooohter

i had mine shiny and it went very long

scuffed and it hooked more than the others for me

im a cranker with 15.5 speed

didnt seem like the other were burning up,no one thoguht so, but thios ball rolled stronger.

its cover can be adjusted easily
my first ball out of bag

mine is drilled 5 x 4

The Triple Threat sold very well around where I live. I think the reason it may not have taken off nation wide is because of the great success that Brunswick had with the Inferno. They both give very similiar looks on the lane.

I have one too and i think its the smoothes rolling ball i have out of all my Track equipment. I might get rid of the one i have and buy a new one and drill it differently.

X, the Inferno is truly a monster never thrown a Big-B ball for awhile but wanted to see what the hype was about with the Inferno.... THIS IS NO HYPE!
The Triple Threat is also a good ball but, the calling for the Track is not that strong in the Jersey Area. I notice that most shops get with shop programs i.e... VIP, Star, Elite and Prosource to get special discounts to keep profits high. I don,t believe Track offers anything like this.

I've been in the shop business about 9 years now and around shops since I was 16
(40 now).  What I've found is that a majority of customers still want big hook, kinda like buying the latest greatest driver in golf.  This is why industry continues to produce more and more hook, concept existed since wht dot to yel dot to LT-48 to urethane to resin to particle to ?????.  So to me, it's a minority group of bowlers who actually develop an arsenal and need to fit gaps from top to bottom.  Most avg bowlers (even at 200 on soft shots) only have 2 to maybe 3 balls (soft, med, hard).

Possibly another reason for slow sales is if the company is not a popular one in your area.  It's hard to get the avg bowler to try a new product.  At a couple hundred bucks a pop nowadays, I don't blame anyone not wanting to try something new and have it be a flop for them.  I've watched numerous bowlers who have had some success with one brand and that's it, they're hooked for life.  I have about 900 league bowlers in my center and I can honestly say that I only have about 2 to 3 percent that are serious bowlers. (boy, I need to move!)  We are a dying breed gentlemen.....

I'm the only person I know of in my area that has a Triple Threat.  It gets a lot of looks and questions though.  Since I bought this ball, my average has gone up about 3 pins overall.  I can't say enough good things about this product.  Just drilled my Phenom Unleashed tonight, we'll see how it works tomorrow.

I just got it punched out last week and it is very easy ball to adjust from
and is stronger than my EGO ball by 2-3 boards. I am bringing with me tonight
to face a much stronger bowler average wise but after working with bill hall and getting a new grip and balls layed out from him personally i feel the 17 pin higher average bowler better bring his game with him tonight. I will post how it reacted tomorrow if the lanes allow me to use this ball tonight.
