Power Machine
« on: May 31, 2008, 12:10:35 AM »
What's up Legion...

I used to have a Power Machine, but sold it a while back. I liked the ball, actually shot a 300 with it. I may have a chance to buy one brand new, and am wondering if someone can tell me if the core on that ball is symmetrical or asymmetrical.. I seem to bowl much better with symmetrical balls, so I may stay away from this Power Machine if it's an asymmetrical. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks!

Robo cores in the Machine series are asymmetrical.

Weaser is correct about the Robo Core being asymetrical.
If you like the reaction of the Power Machine, but feel more comfortable with a symetrical piece, I'd suggest the Kinetic or possibly Kinetic Pearl.  Now...tecnically these two balls are also asymetrical, but the mb rating is not that strong.  One of the Kinetic's most appealing qualities for me has been the big backend of the Power Machine with the forgiveness of a symetrical core.  The Kinetic line is perfection!  Check it out!

Well, you claimed to like the ball. You also had a 300 game with the Power Machine. I wouldn't just let the core inside the ball turn me away from buying the ball if I had prior success with it.

That's exactly what I was thinking, you liked the ball when you had it, so why does it matter now unless you've changed dramatically in the way you throw?

If you liked the Power Machine, and can get another one do it. When it comes to drilling a new ball to match a older one, it is easier and more accurate to do this with a asymmetrical bowling ball because the MB is marked and with it marked it is marked because it wont move after drilling.

I agree.  Which is why I have two myself.  Maybe there will be some PM in the Kinetic Pearl....
