What to do..............
« on: November 30, 2005, 03:32:47 PM »
Been bowling at a new center and cannot figure out a consistent line.
Here is the situation that has me lost as far as what to do.
40' house BLOCK (over wall)
units @ 15';  20 board = 57, 10 board = 38, 5 board = 6
units @ 35';  20 board = 38, 10 board = 18, 5 board = 3.2

I would expect this pattern to give a guy some room but it isn't that way at all. If I miss slightly I get some sort of nightmare leave but if I miss horribly I have a chance. This is really messing with me. I have tried several different lines, releases, and balls to combat the condition, but they are all VERY sensitive to release, line and speed. I have bowled on sport shots that should be much more difficult, but I scored better and more consistent. I have tried virtually every ball in my arsenal playing anywhere from up 5 firm to a soft 18 to 3 @ the break point swing.
See profile for details on equipment used.

From the looks of your arsenal, you have some high end asymmetrical stuff and some mid line stuff....my first notion is the asymmetrical stuff is too much ball and the mid line stuff is not enough...something in between would probably work, like an Arsenal Aggressive or Arsenal Reactive. The Aggressive will pick up a roll a touch sooner but the Reactive revs up real nice down the lane and has more backend than the Aggressive for me.

I would look into one of those balls to help you combat what you see.

Have you tried standing further back on the approach to let the ball use more lane?
